One round of matches before the final starts but five rounds of point scoring to come but still, the mighty @Ecky looks to have this sewn up. Division I tyro @MAY-Z's eddieslittleindians have gone off the boil a touch and have been overtaken by Ecky's main challenger for the Premier League title in @Ron Burgandy's The Far Callers. @Strawbis the uncatchable clubhouse leader for the @Mighty Eagles award after scoring just 960 so it must be more donuts over in the US than Bakers Delight for the Geecats.

Here's to just to hopefully not opening a bakery myself as I strive to avoid the chop in Premier League.

Hogg Division V has been a very close league in 2023 with Fly only taking the minor premiership in the last round. It really is too close to pick but if I had to stick my neck out for a tip I'd say that Robsquad has been in pretty good form lately. The bottom three sides dragged the chain a bit so a fifty percent win-loss ratio wasn't enough to get it done here. Obviously the top four go in with the best chance of going up but I think the top seven are a chance for promotion. No love for Ginger Ninjas though don't think they can advance.

Slothy has been the standout for most of the year topping the table as well as the scoring in this league. MAFIA is also a side that dominates at this level but struggles when they go up but they look good things for promotion again this year. The finals will be a very closely run thing with eighth ranked Fleece in top form and a few teams above them looking over their shoulder. It will be the CAPITAL CASE teams that challenge the Sloth for this flag.

Of the four sides relegated perhaps the big surprise was Fantasy Virgin who had such a dominant SC season two years ago. Amy found the wins hard to come by this year and her scoring was, well, virgin like. Nuggetty has been at higher levels but he drops again after being unable to find the arse saving win he needed in the last few weeks of the season.

Qualifying finals winners Brads Rookies and Robsquad are one game away from qualifying for Division IV as minor premier Flyspies dropped the ball in the first week of the finals. In the eliminatiion finals it was teams seven and eight who got up with 7th ranked SKZ the leading scorer in the league and a big chance for promotion if she can win next week. She's only eleven boys so a big lift needed!

The top two sides of the division won through to the Preliminary Final last week which means Slothy and Power Rules have earned promotion into Hogg Division II next year even though Slothy in particular didn't have their best week. McFLY and Strut survived another week with the Trotters almost phoning it in as Straycat bounced back to their best form. Golden Fleece made a strong run to make the finals but went out without a whimper once the finals action began. Both are looking good to earn promotion but MAFIA probably has better claims than Strut, even though the Cats won the minor round encounter.

The top six teams in this league all hit the finals with a 12-6 record which means that this year's Division II is the most evenly contested league in Hogg history. The top six are the six that remain after Some Cant put up a fighting effort in their Elimination Final where Cossi's Carnts did not. The big statement was made by Underbelly who unleashed a scoring barrage to put the highly rated harryshawks on the backfoot. harry is with the big boys now in Divvy II but on this occasion it was the girl got the chocolates. Herbs'N'Spices and Head Butters were other impressive winners with another top female coach in Ugly Ducklings all of a sudden looking a bit wobbly. Underbelly looks well overdue to move up in the world while Herb looks the bigger threat to Butters rather than harry or Guidance.
