Beautiful spring weather. No afl games on. Perfect day for footy. Yet the SANFL chooses to schedule its finals on a Sunday, and father's day at that.

The SANFL must be an octopus; it never seems to run out of feet in which to shoot itself.
Clowns OUT. Smears OUT. RESIST THE OCCUPATION.

Not surprisingly, Adam Hartlett has been re-signed until 2025. He has done a fantastic job and I really can see the team heading in the right direction.

Couple of key forwards would be nice.

SANFL need a Glenelg vs Sturt Grand Final or it could be a very low crowd.

Very little support for the Cows at the Second Semi

Those two clubs will bring a decent crowd and it could be a double in the GF if the Double Blues get up in the Ressies as well.

Hoping its Sturt. Should be no AFL in the SANFL.

With the poor crowd on Sunday it does ask the question again why not home finals in the first two weeks.
90% of the Sturt & Central District supporters left after their match. Very empty stadium for the next game.

Look at WA decent crowds for their finals and played at home grounds.

Imagine the Bay, Elizabeth, Unley packed for home finals would give it more of a finals atmosphere.

Why do you think the ADFL have home finals. Great crowd's fantastic atmosphere.

RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

5600 combined at the WAFL QF & EFs over 8000 at the SANFL double header

Under 7250 combined at the WAFL SF1 and SF2, over 10000 at Adelaide oval last weekend

Plus the player who make finals love the reward of playing at Adel Oval

It’s one of the attractions of playing SANFL footy compared to community footy
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Finals at Adelaide Oval gives the players exposure to the ground, I think it's important. Armosphere on Sunday was good, Bays did well to win an away final.

Personally I think minor finals should stay at Adelaide Oval. Players love it, atmosphere isn’t too bad with the stands blocked off. Wouldn’t be good to play at Adelaide Oval for the GF without playing at all before BUT the league should be doing a lot more to try to get more people to games IMO. Try something different, free or extra tickets to club members, would be a good reward to keep people signing up each year. Try to get the kids to come out I know they get in for free but give them another incentive, enough room on the hill to create something to bring them and then there parents along. Properly advertise it at the schools. I thought three of the sides had good support on Sunday, if another real SANFL club was playing could’ve been another 2k anyway The long gap between games wouldn’t have helped people thinking about sticking around for the second game either. The league doesn’t do that much promoting, need to sell it more IMO as well.

Whoever Glenelg play will have had a look at Adelaide Oval a lot more.
If Sturt get through to the GF it will be their 4th game there, if the Crowserves get through it will be their 8th go on Adelaide Oval.
The Bays have played there once this year - seems fair…

i agree with the playing of minor finals on suburban ovals, this was mooted back in 2009 and one of the reasons for not doing it was lack of media facilites

however as you can see not many support the idea on here

I do. It was a bit soul-less at Adelaide Oval on Sunday. Much like a domestic limited overs game being played at the MCG or Adel Oval.

However, say the game was played at Glenelg on the weekend - would Glenelg be able to cater for 4 teams? The lights there are ordinary - if they were required.
