These last few games are not a total waste, as long as selectors take heed...Green and Abbott... gonski. DO NOT pick them in the WC fifteen.

This current lot is quite possibly the worst Australian ODI side I can remember. I’ve always gone into WC’s thinking we will win it but this is the first time I’ve ever thought that we will be amazingly lucky to just make the semis let alone win it

Aust 5/102 (15)

Weird shit happening

Warner alternating between batting left and Right handed

Facing up Right Handed he goes for a Reverse sweep off Ashwin, gets a HUGE bottom edge onto his pad and given out LBW ?????
Then decides NOT to review it after a discussion with Inglis WTF ?????? Just weird

Then a few balls later Inglis misses a sweep from Ashwin and id absolutely PLUMB LBW and decides to Review  Hitting middle half way up

Certainly in disarray. Leading into the Cup, its been a dogs breakfast, giving a whole heap of guys a chance to prove themselves worthy of a spot on the squad, but all this has done has shown up our lack of depth, and in the meantime robbed some of our core players of opportunities to get into some sort of form.
With the WC around the corner, Warner is the only player who would be happy with his form.
Conversely, Green has surely put himself out of contention. His progress in the last 6 months has been alarming.

Although not 100% confirmed yet losing Head for the WC is massive and Green has plateaued badly.
Agree with Stampy above we are no chance to win it, media I've listened to saying we will make the final is looking more and more laughable.
It's all aligning nicely for India, if they don't win it it'll be a huge choke.

1/119 off14.

Not sure how many would be par but the record total here is 340 (only about 7 other ODI's)

Perhaps high 300's. say 375 may be enough.

Good start.

5/281 from 39 overs, Maxwell bowled by a Bumrah yorker for 5.
Another 70 would be nice, so would runs from Green.

This innings proves Marnus must be in the squad. As much as he and Smith play similar roles, we have to play both because our middle order is absolutely pitiful. Carey has only passed 20 once in this batch of 8 games, Green shouldn't even be selected in the 15. Maxwell is a risk selection and Hardie Stoinis and Inglis hardly inspire.
