FIRE AT MARDEN

SA Metropolitan Fire Service crews responded to a structure fire on Lower Portrush Road at Marden.

Firefighters were alerted at 12:16pm and arrived to find an airconditioning unit on the roof of the Marden Shopping Centre complex issuing smoke and flames. The sprinkler system had activated and shoppers were evacuated from the complex.

Seven appliances and one command car attended the scene and firefighters brought the fire under control in ten minutes, and a further ten minutes to fully extinguish.

The centre has been handed back to management.

Went and gave some throw downs to the lad in the new nets at OHalloran Hill (which are open to the public - well done council) however as they do these day you are caged in with a wire roof which causes issues when son decides to practice his t20 skills, **** me its like a lottery if you get hit in the head or not!!
