Coming from West Adelaide I was stunned he got his first 4 year contract, cannot believe Adelaide are trading for him. Will be backup only but…

Himmelberg replacement

Future 4th will get it done

He is a much better footballer than Himmelberg.

But still not good enough at the best level.

Burgess in for Himmelberg seems a fairly pointless exercise. You're replacing your 5th forward ( Walker, Fogarty, Thilthorpe, Gollant ) in Himmelberg with a bloke who won't be ahead of the other 4 and has remarkably underwhelming numbers as Himmelberg does.

It appears to be the sign of this years draft quality. Seems far more currency for clubs’ bottom end “talent” as it’s better tge devil you know compared to the unknown of a later draft pick in a shallow draft.

Either that or the Ctows are going all in on next years SANFL flag
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Agree, only “benefit “ I can possibly see is that he can go play defence also and with a few injuries already he plugs a hole.

That's the likely outcome. Keane and Burgess playing as the key defenders early.

Sideways movement that doesn’t improve the list IMO

Correct. Doesn't improve the list. And he's 27. But if it costs us nothing then can't complain.
