Victor today
Started around 12.30pm
Mother nature decided to sprinkle showers on and off for the duration.
The weather didn't impact my poor play but 2 in the group who just played ultra slow. I lost interest by the 6th hole it was that bad so just tanked. Not sure how you can stand so long over a ball and not do anything... I'd have a billion swing thoughts.
There were a few holes where I finished and they were still 100m out

It’s one thing on the Sim, and then another on the course.

Oh yeah.
As expensive as the SIMs are they don't tell the true story at times.
One sim had me getting backspin with a wedge....  only time I get get backspin is if it hits a tree and comes back

Sounds like you need to dedicate a lot of time to playing golf in between cricket and get dialled in

Yeah I have come to the same conclusion.

No cricket this Summer, other than a bit of coaching, so I am planning on more golf.

By the last few holes I did hit the driver better, and straighter. I have been playing around with ball position, and tee height so I need to get that combo correct.

Putting ok, chipping awful, and don't think I really hit one solid iron all day. My previous round irons were actually ok.

Heaps of work required.

Glenelg Golf Day.

Well let’s just say I spent a day and a half in bed after it! #-O

They ran the day so well, one of the best ran days I’ve been involved in, plenty of food and more importantly plenty of pi55 delivered on course all day, like I said really well ran. Nick Chigwidden even delivery the food!

Great format, although something I’ve never seen before 3 person Ambrose, 2 groups per hole score each others card to stop the burglars. Brilliant idea.

More importantly we won the day! Team handicap of 6.3 which I was very happy with. Unknown what the prize is as yet, as presentation was back at the club that I didn’t attend.

My highlights were out driving the pro on the par 5, 2x Birdies back to back on my own (1st and 2nd whole), but my biggest was on the 14th we’d used all my drives and the 24 handicapper in my group put one up the middle (albeit not very far) so I wasn’t going to bother hitting but a member of the other group drives straight over the bunker and says ‘No one will beat that’ I pull out driver and drive it to 6ft from the pin. We missed the eagle but I still loved it.

Great day, even better result.

Get the man a Glenelg FC membership

Yesterday at the Vines, started on the back 9 and after not breaking 50 for a few months I walked off 18 with 42 & 21 pts, a birdie on the 14th and some long putts sunk (2 from off the green) probably made it better than it was but I was pretty rapt. Bogey on the 1st and things going well, until going double, double, quad, triple, double   finished ok with a par on the 7th and 9th to walk off with 52 & 13 pts. Overall some nice signs of improvement, tried taking some speed off the Driver swing and that did help. Iron's are still off - e.g. on the 17th tried to go over the tree on the right with an 8 iron, bladed it under the tree, but over the bunkers, to 10 feet

Already been stung with h'cap going from 19 to 17 ffs!!

Massive thud back to earth for me yesterday!

Tuesday Comp everyone off Red Tees

Played of plus, which was not enjoyable at all.

Red tees are certainly a challenge as it brings in so much trouble in to play off the tee and trust me i found most of it! I went OB 3 times off the tee and in the Water twice! The OB's you'd never reach off the Blue Tee's but Red Tees you certainly can.....

I will certainly have a different mindset when playing the Red Tees next time.

Finished Nett 83 ](*,) #-O #-O

I think playing the red tees is good for something different.
As you experienced it gives the course a completely different look and angles you never normally see

Twilight last night- Stroke Round Nett 35 (Even Par)

Birdied the first, Bogey on 7 and 9.

Nothing great (apart from the tee shot on the first (par 3) but nothing bad. Was dead on 7, had to hit sideways and a 3 putt on 9, seriously tough pin location.

Winner had nett 30, handicap of 17 WTF how do you have a handicap of 17 for 9 holes........

Ambrose day

Buttered up after late night.

Our team was off 7.75

Hit the ball the best I have in a while. Crushed a few drives. Short game sound. Putting on the cored greens was pretty solid. I always go first putting to give others the read etc. And that worked well.
We had 6 under overall for nett 58.5.
No Bogeys. We really should have birdied the 18th (was our 9th).
Outside of that we were all solid and had our moments.

Winning team
50.75 or something silly

Lady Bay yesterday
Cored greens

I was mentally prepared for stableford until I was told I was in the group playing stroke.
Then just played ultra conservative golf, I didn't want to spend time looking for any wayward shots. And as such the score blew out.
Handicap now heading towards 20.. at 18.1

Driver was quite good.
Putting was diabolical
Bunker play was ok
Short game was fair

Last Friday - 18 holes Twilight

The deal at Bundoora GC is on all through Summer - $15 unlimited golf after 3.00pm.

Friday was shaping up as a quiet day on the work front. By 1.00pm I think I'd received, and dealt with 4 e-mails for the day! Big boss not in, my boss working from home. So I was the only Rep in the office, there are 6 of us. Ok, I am out here by 2.30pm. Drive up from Dandenong completed in under an hour. Get changed in the car park (into shorts) and walk into the Pro Shop, pay my dues & I am away. Esky with 4 Corona's that had been on ice since 7.00am that morning strapped to the buggy.

2 blokes on the first tee, invite me to play through. so it was a bit rushed, and I was still a bit stiff from the hour drive up the Eastlink. Proceed to hit 4 awful shots, before a shank into the green side bunker! Not the start I was looking for. 2nd hole not that much better, but at least I was now away and not holding up the 2 blokes who let me through.

3rd hole is a tight, but not overly long par 5. Stealth driver deployed. Hit it with a touch of fade, but reasonably well, get down to it, just off fairway, sitting ok'ish, and I am 210 out, down hill. Hit a poor 3 wood left into trees. Lucky bounce out to fairway, but need to clear overhanging tree branches, 70 meters out. Sand Wedge to 10 foot. Happy with that.

4th hole - 160 meter uphill par 3. Duffed 4 iron, followed by bladed 9 iron over the back, never to be found. Get ******. I open my first beer.

5th hole - short par 4. Stealth slices into trees right. Not much on offer, decide to hit a 5 iron, and see if I can get lucky. I don't. Hits trees, and richocets left... onto fairway. 100 meters left. Wedge into 12-15 feet.

6th hole. Short par 4. I have driven this hole a few times in the past. Hit Stealth - leaks a little right, and about 20 meters shorts. Flick sand iron to 8 foot. Miss putt. Finish 1st beer.

7th hole - Dog leg left par 5. Plenty of driving room. Stealth deployed, sliced right into god know what, never to be found, in fact I can't be arsed even looking for it. . ****! Re-load, still head right, missing perfectly nice fairway. 8 iron to 100 meteres. Wedge in to 15 feet.

8th hole - 150'ish par 3 playing into the breeze and into the sun. 4 iron leaks right, but pin high. Duff chip, duff second chip, blade third chip. I open the 2nd Corona.

9th hole. Solid par 4 - 380'ish. Stealth deployed. Cracked it, just inside the 150 marker, right hand side fairway. 6 iron pin high right. chip onto green 2 putt.

10th hole. Down hill 170 meter par 3. 4 iron, pushed a little right....at least I think it was, felt like it. Didn't find the ****. 2nd beer emptied.

11th hole - 400m Par 4. Stealth deployed. Cracked down the left hand side (ball played back in stance) of the fairway. 185 in, hybrid - pulled left.

12th hole - another 400 m Par 4. Stealth deployed - sliced to god know where. ******* ****! Re-load. Better shot but still crap, trees right.

13th hole - long par 5. Stealth deployed, pulled left but not awful. 4 iron out, 8 iron in. 3rd beer is opened after putting.

14th hole - short-ish par 4. Stealth deployed. Best drive of the night. Spanked that little white bastard, left centre fairway. 95 meters in - choke down pitching wedge ( I am not on speaking terms with gap wdge) to 8 foot. Rolled in the putt. Finish 3rd beer in celebration.

15th hole - Bloody long Par 4 - 445 or thereabouts. Stealth deployed. Pulled left. Find it, kick it onto fairway. Duff 3 wood. Open last beer. 175 out - 3 iron, struck well, short left. Chip to 8 foot. I felt I was going ok with sand wedge chipping. Using a tip from Paul Gow's how good is golf. Just keeping my weight back up off the ball. As I tend to fall into them at times. Working a treat.

16th hole, short par 4 dogleg left. 3 wood off the tee into good position. 7 iron in, short right. Chip up & 2 put. Open my last beer on the 17th tee as groups in front backed up, included a group of 6. **** heads.

17th hole - mid length (155 m) par 3 down hill to a 2 tier green. Into the wind. 4 Iron pushed right. Chip up, but onto the lower tier, pin is back, on the top tier. 3 stab.

18th hole - short par 5, dog leg right. Stealth deployed. Needs to be left hand side fairway to be a chance of getting home in 2. I hit it down the left side but not that well. Can't get home in 2. smash 3 wood, comes up short. Drop a ball where I wanted to finish, and hit hybrid on. Finish last beer.

Overall in terms of the Stealth, when I hit it ok, it hangs in the air longer than my old driver, so yes I probably have picked up 10-15 Meters, but there is no consistency. Put that down to operator error!

Adjourn to my local pub, while I wait for my Indian take-away - Medium Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan and Basmatti rice to be ready.

Looking for to this Friday!
