When you purchase an electric vehicle the fossil fuels used to make the plastic in the vehicle and the emissions created in the manufacturing of the batteries takes about 8 or 9 years to offset.

Yep, but they’re using hybrid engines, majority ICE, and I doubt they travel around the world to tracks on solar and hydrogen.

A recent CSIRO report indicated that less than 10% of lithium batteries of any type were currently being recycled. So where are they going...

My concern is that lithium itself bursts into flame on any exposure to air, and that if it is buried and the very soluble lithium dissoves and trickles into the water supply it can be very toxic and damage people's kidneys and thyroid glands. Levels above 0.5 mmols per litre make for a serious risk of that damage. ( Lithium is used to treat Bipolar Disorder and so medical people in the field have established that as the potentially toxic level.)

I'm all for developing hydrogen fuel technology. A technique for combining Hydrogen and Nitrogen to allow portability as liquid Ammonia has been developed in Canberra, and solar and wind power can be used for Hydrogen extraction, though calm days and low sun output days may affect production - Thorium fission is a possible solution for that as Thorium fission is not spontaneous but needs a little external stimulus to keep it going and so it cannot cause meltdowns like uranium can. It also can't be used for bombs.

Women packing for a house move.

The wife puts the same amount of tape on the bottom of a box of pillows as she does on the same size box of DVDs & then wonders why the ass falls out of the box containing the DVDs

Then packing a van & trailer she just randomly throws shit in/on. I call her the bull at a gate removalist. I was able to rearrange things to fit twice as much per load

Well you could at least help her pack now that you’ve kicked her out.

Doesn't matter, he'll be there for 3-4 terms. You think the Libs can hold themselves together to form some semblance of an opposition party, 'cause if they don't, as expected, Labor can just do what they want as usual.
