I’m a follower from distance due to a family connection to YP and my cousin playing for Southern Eagles.

Why are Ardrossans junior numbers so low? It seems like one of the larger towns on the peninsula.

Is it time that Bute and Paskeville merge? Northern Yorke Peninsula?

It seems wallaroo has decent junior numbers, so 3 clubs is viable in the triangle?

Could we see a competition like -

Moonta
Wallaroo
Northern Yorke Peninsula
Southern Eagles
CMS Crows
CY Roos (combination of CY and Ardrossan)

Play everyone 3 times over 18 weeks

Ardrossan is a retirement village so older community

A lot of Bute and Pasky players are overflow from Kadina

I don’t know what the answer going forward and most leagues will have to come up with some left field solutions to keep going.

It’s happening all over the state, big farmers buying out the small guys, machines replacing workers. Which means less families, less teachers, police, doctors, nurses coming into the area.

It’s amazing that for example, yorketown, Edithburgh and warooka previously had thriving individual clubs.

There’s talks there could be a restructure across a number of the northern leagues- APFL, NEFL, NAFA, BL&G & YPFL. The problem in the APFL is the southern clubs (Two Wells, Angle Vale, Virginia) are effectively becoming suburbs of Adelaide which means their junior numbers are huge and the number of top age juniors in each grade far outweighs the traditional country clubs.

Could we see these 5 leagues pulled apart and reassembled?

Apparently the four northern hills Div 2 teams aren't allowed to fight to have their own clubs any more, so they could become the 7th BLG team

Mallala and a Roseworthy/HB combo come to the B&L giving 8 teams. Balaklava go to North Eastern and United and HWE give up. United could merge with Mallala.

I think it's only a matter of time before all comps get rezoned. Failing junior numbers and participation will be the major contributor.

Lochiel to Redhill is 45km
Port Wakefield to Redhill is 77km

Not sure what routes you were taking but Hummocks is closer to Redhill than Eudunda

I did mean that driving to hummocks from Eudunda is closer than driving from Eudunda to redhill

As much as it saddens me I’m hearing more noise than I hoped for, watching the divide in the APFL juniors over the past 15+ years though makes me realise it’s for the betterment of everyone, I guess I’m a little selfish as I love the APFL and all the clubs involved. I’m always made feel welcome to all of them.
