ASCA executive is of the understanding that Sutton Derby will fold after Christmas, so all ouright results will revert to standard 6 point wins. Section 1 will then have a bye.

I feel like this decision should have been made long ago, before teams played Sutton Derby in two day cricket, and replace the bye with a side like Western Youth. The names on their team sheets week to week look more like their Section 1 sides than not.

Let's hope this is a lesson for future years to not allow clubs in to the highest section of a compeition without contingency (juniors, atleast 2 sides).

Sutton would only have 6 players available this week as the others would still be celebrating from last week as it was the first time they hadn't lost due to the wash out.

Moe's all good, but thanks for asking.

T20 was a good game. A couple of decisions could have gone either way, but that's cricket.

The section 9 game against WYC was also a pretty good game, and kudos to Lee fuller, the skipper for playing in a great spirit.
We realise that it wasn't a full strength WYC III team, but obviously to them, neither were our fifth team. 2 brave young ladies, and a brave 13 yo helped us fill the team, and we batted out our 40 overs, which we certainly didn't look like doing early on.

Cheers

Things are looking up for SD. Another round gone and they didn't loose, but still waiting for their first win.

SD won their first game yesterday against Sheidow Park.
Maybe the 5 players they got in over the xmas break can help win them a few more.

They only had the one original Sutton Derby player yesterday I believe. Pretty much a completely different team. Mainly Nepalese lads from their T20 league.

Give credit where credit is due. Well done to SD for their first win. Not leading to anything but I hope they have all their paperwork in order if they had 10 new players.

Not sure on the C grade but have heard recently in Section 7 World War 3 nearly started between their B Grade and ICC Sharks.

Go for it wrote:Hats off to Nathan Manly and Coromandel B grade lads today. Heard missing a few from A and B grade today and with us at 0/150 could of dropped their heads but to their credit had a fantastic attitude and had a crack all day. At the moment Section 2 is probably to high for them but they just get on with the game and give it everything. If only every club/teams had this attitude. Also happy to stay and have a beer after the game Cheers lads

Hats off to Morphies A grade yesterday. Going down to Coromandel and Sheidow Park's B grade 2 games in a row must be a tough pill to swallow but they continue to front up and have a red hot crack. It was nice to see them stick around for a beer too albeit keeping to themselves away from the Hewett Oval clubrooms.

Well, 47 years involved with cricket, and I'm off to my first tribunal.
Then, front up against the same team this weekend.
