Cricket really has taken a turn for the worse, just too damn technical, he had control of the ball for long enough, end of story.

The Starc one during the Ashes was ridiculous.

But he let the ball touch the ground while his body was still motion from taking the catch.
If that's a catch then why have slips fielders always got their hands under the ball for the last 100+yrs?

He did not “let” the ball touch the ground, he had 100% control of the ball before landing.

There is no comparison here to a slips catch, none whatsoever.

The new bullshit rule is a joke, I’m glad it was paid, I’d rather that paid than the ridiculous catch Neser took last season when he was tapping it up behind the donut van.

He needed to use his hand to control his body, therefore he let the ball touch the ground

I blame the Heats implosion on McSweeney barely getting any of the strike after 10 overs

10 wickets in the shed

you can slap from ball one with little chance of being bowled out

155 off 120 balls = both sides can win , with MS a slight fav to win on malviz about 55%
66 off 42 balls with 10 wickets left on malviz = MS were about 90% chance of winning

It went from a 50/50 game to a GIFT for MS

The other interesting factor
Rogers and Harper went out to the middle to bat
Within the next 30-60 seconds the 2nd innings was to commence
then it rained B4 a ball was bowled and they left the ground
Glen Maxwhirllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll then batted and not Rogers when the game resumed

I always thought the D/L system increased the chasing score each wicket that fell?

Either way, after the start that the Hurricanes had they should’ve won, the ball was hooping and they did get bowled out.

As much as I would’ve like the Stars to lose, I thought it was a fair contest in the end, you won’t go for 10 an over if you bowl yorkers, we don’t see enough of them anymore in any form of cricket

Incorrect. Meg Lanning made that same mistake in a WBBL game a few years back. Once a target is calculated it can’t change unless they go off again for rain on several occassions. Wickets that fall when they are actually back playing can then adjust the target if they have to go off and DL is used again to re-calculate a target. It’s no different if no rain whatsoever. If you are chasing 170 the target doesn’t change whenever you lose a wicket. If you are chasing 3/169 and you make 8/170 you are still the winner.
