We have a Roborock S8. Cleans very well. There is still a place for just a quick touch up for the odd missed bit. We (okay my wife) still getting used to it and she says there is sometimes a need to send it out twice but as she says it is just a button push. Controlled via her phone. Ours mops the hard floors as well. She rates it highly.

Does anyone own one of those doorbell cameras? If so, how much data do they usually use per month uploading videos to the cloud etc.?

We have one. It works well on the floors it chooses to hoover before it heads back for a recharge. However until it learns to do the dusting first it will never replace a human.

I’ve got the boor bell and 4 cameras. Mine load to a hard drive locally(hidden)so use no data really.
I had the cloud based previously and they use bugger all data but it did cost $5 per month for it.

I’ve got the EUFY brand and they’re great.

When you say it loads to a hard drive (hidden), is that wireless?

Basically I want to record everything that happens outside, but don't need to see it live or use the doorbell function - so if I can buy something that just beams everything it records to a device inside my house which stores it that would be ideal.

Yeah uses your wireless internet in the house to store data on a hard drive.
You can still see it live or watch it back whenever.
Check out the EUFY brand at Bunnings.
Easy to install and setup as well

Does it count as your first beer for the year if you haven't stopped?

You'll need ironically a very clean floor to have one. No clutter, no steps etc
They can go over rugs onto hard floor etc, but if you have any cords, or things like that forget about it.
Also the canister in them are tiny.
I have one and dont use it.

Robovacs and pets don’t mix. My dog who passed away 2 years ago had a crook guts when we were out. I don’t want to talk about the results and the cleaning of the machine. Don’t do it….

Both are expensive , however we spent the money and got a decent Dyson and a Hizero wet vac mop (for the hard surfaces) going back 2-3 years. Both are worth every cent for the long term
