Well ACB have announced that they will still proceed with welcome to country and will still not acknowledge Australia day.

Thought we were trying to unite, not divide, this has all the hallmarks of a very embarrasing fallout for the ACB

Be very interesting to see the crowd response (if a crowd even turns up)

Rumour is that the Aussie and Windies players went and saw six and out at the Gov after the test and Maxwell got in a bit of strife and had a visit to the hospital.
Now suddenly he is out of the ODI squad for the series against WI with an injury.

Who are the ACB? It's not the 90s/early 2000s anymore Locky
https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/cric ... nt-1417601
Cricket Australia is conducting an investigation after Glenn Maxwell was briefly hospitalised in Adelaide last Friday following an alcohol-related incident.

First reported by the Daily Telegraph, it's understood that Maxwell was out watching Six and Out, the band that features Brett Lee, when the incident took place. What exactly happened is still being determined, but it's understood an ambulance was called and Maxwell was taken to hospital although his stay was short.

ESPNcricinfo understands that the incident did not involve anyone else. Maxwell had been in Adelaide for a celebrity golf event following the end of Melbourne Stars' BBL campaign.

Earlier on Monday, Maxwell was "managed" out of Australia's ODI squad to face West Indies although Cricket Australia insisted that is not related to the events in Adelaide.

"Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information," a statement said.

"It is not related to him being replaced in the ODI squad, a decision that was made following the BBL and based on his individual management plan. Maxwell is expected to return for the T20 series. No further comment will be made at this time."

During the ODI World Cup in India late last year, Maxwell suffered concussion when he fell off a golf cart in Ahmedabad. In late 2022, he broke his leg when he slipping while running at a friend's 50th birthday and was out of the game for more than three months.

Last week, Maxwell stood down as captain of Melbourne Stars after they had failed to make the BBL finals.

Change the date. Let's all celebrate.

Changing the date won't change a thing,
we still came here, that's what pisses them off.

Who is "we" and "them"? Blokes like you who claim to want the day to unite everyone and then use language like that. Date has been changed previously, why can't it be changed now?

CA must really dislike Bancroft / Renshaw.. first Khawaja retires hurt in Adelaide but expected to play (what happened to concussion protocols?) not Head has covid but likely to play with social distancing.

Seems they're determined not to make a change.

Khawaja was cleared wasn’t he?
Don’t think we will see a change in batting, maybe one of the quicks gets rested?

Quicks haven’t bowled much this summer, they’ll be right. 97 overs in two innings in Adelaide for the whole bowling unit

Nothing wrong with the selectors picking the strongest team possible. We are all critical of South Africa sending a second rate squad to NZ. It shows that Australia takes Test cricket seriously and for that they should be applauded.
