And JFM to open with Brazell debut. Neilson at 6. Won toss and batted.

We’ll be 1/1 or 0/100

Would think if Jake Carder, Kelvin Smith, Harry Conway do not have contracts for next season then they will all be delisted for sure.

I'd take a Carder 11 off 160 over that JFMcTrash
Dave Warner will be missed!

Complete waste of time JFM opening the batting in red ball cricket. Well done Redbacks selectors.

Agree, especially when that pitch had so many demons early. Both teams mentioned how hard it was to bat the first two sessions

As mentioned yesterday, Brazell is not ready. Had an ordinary year for TTG and Second X1. Threw him to the wolves.

Trying to turn JFM into Warner not going to work.

In all seriousness - he's supposedly a "senior player", then why wouldn't he open to take some pressure off some of the younger players. Or is it he's too selfish to not want to face the new ball, thinking it's easier to come in later (although by the way we're going he'll be in soon anyway!!)? This is why the culture is so much on the nose at the Redbacks - too many selfish individuals and sh.t blokes who don't "play for the team".

The comparisons you regularly here to Warner astonish me.

When Warner debuted for NSW in the One Dayers he was raw and brash but he also was still fairly compact, had a solid defensive technique and was solid either side of the wicket. For mine Warner was more about getting his shot selection and decision making right whilst he understood batting at different paces.

JFM plays extremely lose, is a real one sided player and only bats at one pace. A closer comparison would be to Maxwell but once again Maxwell came on the scene hitting the ball 360.

I really hope JFM makes it, his bloody fun to watch and brings anticipation even when he makes a duck. Cant help but feel he is getting some really bad coaching at the moment however.

Bit unfair on Nielson.

You could say the same about Carey. Has opened in ODI before so has experience, has often faced international test cricketers with a second new ball but is batting at 4.

Unless you're in the inner sanctum its hard to know what discussions have taken place.

Warner was also scoring big time runs in the Sydney two-day comp as well, IIRC. Practically had to bash the door down before getting a Shield call-up.
