Both players lucky if they did get off, but reading your comments, I wonder if the report process went a bit soft because there is a grand final being played this Sunday?

Agree with that, originally given one game each which is fair decision, but then the rules meant they could not play Sunday in GF either which was tough call. Should have been allowed to play One day game just like Thornton was for Redbacks in between his one game suspension for Kensy. To both get basically nothing for that incident does not really pass the pub test

Yes - it would be interesting if anyone gets reported during the semi finals of the 2 day comp and see what happens. If given a game or 2 could very well argue precedent that these 2 got only suspended sentences. Especially when physical contact was involved, as opposed to most blokes getting done for swearing or dissent?

I don't see much in any of those incidents, including the ones from the T20 final. The umpire handled it perfectly. Batsmen accidentally runs into bowler while both ball watching. Bowlers pissed off at getting ran in to and makes sure the batsmen won't do it again. Umpire tells the bowler to get on with playing the game - which he already was - walking back to his mark. Nothing wrong with a bit of passion/aggression/frustration. There was no indication of bad language or disrespect of the umpires and no indication of the bowler or batsmen deliberately going out of their way to cause an ugly incident. Nothing to see here.

The umpire was ex West Torrens player Peter George, he reported both players so he obviously knew they crossed the line. Sure he handled it well on the field to calm things down, but was never going to let them get away with physical contact of any type on purpose. The players went at each other each ball bowled for rest of over with not great language.

Normally Aerie you make a lot of sense, but “nothing to see here” when getting three games suspended is definitely not nothing  Should have both missed this round but played the Sunday final.

Now Bailey Capel had surgery and likely to miss rest of season also.

That Glenelg win out of nowhere last weekend going to be vital now as relegation would have been huge possibility. Hopefully have enough points to prevent that happening as batting very brittle now so doubt many more wins coming for rest of season.

Yes, three's a crowd for Bailey unfortunately. On a positive note, Dan Fallins will be available for the One Day final- his batting and bowling both essential to more balanced Eagles side.

I see Pointon and Carrington are back playing. Have these two been injured most of the season? Important to have these guys pushing up to be the next A Grade batsmen. The other player I was wondering about was Gammon - who got a 5fer in the 1st Grade early in the season - has he been injured? I see he's back now.

Bad news re Capel. He's had a great season. It might be one of those seasons where if you can scrape to over 200 as a team, that's a winning score.

Pointon - been overseas, first game back today and made 163 in 2nd Grade. Talented footballer who was premiership player with CMS Crows in Yorke Peninsula FL couple of years ago, but agree he is one who has always shown talent and this will hopefully give him that boost going forward.

Carrington - gave cricket away couple of years ago, decided to comeback and play with his mates in 3rd Grade last game and now into 2nd Grade this round. Not sure he has the desire to get back to 1st Grade but again has the talent so would be good if he chose to try.

Gammon - injured himself just after that 5 for and missed nearly two months, just getting back to match fitness over last two matches in 2nd Grade. If they make finals and the two Poms go home he maybe needed in the 1st Grade again by then.

Harry cops a lot of unfair criticism which is not his fault. He's a top bloke and so glad to see him have a big innings to win a flag after missing out in a few others. Great knock by Els in support as well, solid pick up from Sturt. Well done Eagles.

2 of the last 3 and 3 of the last 8 one day premierships for West Torrens. Kensington have also won 3 in this period.

Another fast start for the Eagles, this time with the ball. Buckingham had Winter out for a duck and then Sean Hunt's awkward bounce had the state trio of McInerney, McSweeney and Scott in the sheds and Glenelg in all sorts at 4/17. Glenelg showed plenty of fight from this point on with Higgins and Bullimore slowly edging Glenelg back in to the game. 200 would have seemed a nice dream at one point, but Bullimore made it a reality with a century and Glenelg's 211 gave them something to defend on a good deck at Karen Rolton Oval. The openers, Buckingham 3/30 and Hunt 3/33, both off 10, the most effective bowlers.

Smith's fast start had the Eagles above the required run rate early, but he charged McSweeney, missed, and Glenelg got their big wicket with not too much damage on the board. By the time Drew edged Conway and the leg spinner Bowering outsmarted Manenti and Davidson, the tides had turned, and Glenelg probably had their noses in front with the score on 4/83 and the spin duo of Bowering and McSweeney starting to put pressure on the Eagles batsman. At the other end, Nielsen, opening in place of the injured Bailey Capel, was steady and the game was in his hands. Not for the first time this season, Reggie Els came to the crease and began rebuilding the innings with Nielsen. Els brought energy to the crease and was able to tick the scoreboard over. The required run rate remained in the 4's and the Eagles went to the final drinks break with the momentum.

Not long after drinks, the sprinklers popped up at the RAH end and the comical scenes of players holding the sprinklers so they'd spray away from the centre of the oval, as someone tried to find the tap to turn them off. 10 minutes later and someone finally found the tap. Play was delayed for about 30 minutes. 60 odd runs to get in 14 overs. Nielsen faced out a maiden from Doggett, then Conway bowled a tight over and a run out chance here and there could've had Glenelg with a chance, but in reality, Nielsen and Els had it covered, never allowing the required run rate to push above 5, and as Nielsen celebrated a brilliant century, then Els celebrated his 50 with a lofted drive over mid-off to tie the scores. Another Eagles premiership, the 7th senior premiership for Mark Harrity as coach and West Torrens champions Kelvin Smith and Daniel Drew as players. Cricket is just a game you play with your mates and sometimes for your mates. Today's was an example of the latter. A high quality game between two high quality teams.

Another outstanding win by West Torrens. Harrity's finals winning record is phenomenal. Hunt and Buckingham set up the win taking 4 early wickets. Glenelg thereafter were always under pressure to get a defendable score. Torrens seem to have the wood over Glenelg in finals and there must be a few mental demons around the Bays playing West Torrens, with the Eagles winning the last 4 grand Finals they have played against Glenelg. Harry Neilsen had his best innings since returning to the club and it couldn't have come at a more fitting time.
A rare chance at the Triple Crown is now in the Eagles hands, only performed once before, by West Torrens in 2016/17. Two decisive 2-day games await. Torrens will need to do it without Sean Hunt and Patrick Brown who both return to England next Sunday/Monday. Also, reliable all-rounder Dan Fallins is highly unlikely to play due to work commitments. A test of the Eagles depth.

Well done!
Surely Hags should be looked at for the Strikers job next season.
Done everything he can at Grade level.
I’d even have him coaching the Redbacks next year as Dizzy hasn’t improved the system one bit.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I dare say he's zero chance while Time Nielsen is still in charge. :?
