I reckon the aussies would be pretty keen for this plonker to keep trying the reverse sweep

Not even whuffer could be critical of missing one that hits the batsman’s back leg and goes the other way

Smith has gone past Mark Waugh, he also had some fun with his catch off Travis Head- https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4ALZhMp ... hlbXZ4dmdt Image

Love it haha.
Lyon has his 24th five wicket haul.
The commentators are a little less perky now.

my take from this match

their top order was more putrid than ours

lyon superb

green brilliant

hazlewood surprised us with the bat and with green set the game up

edit: starc to bat at 10, not making enough runs for a no.8
Go The Tiges!!!

Only talking test cricket

As good as good this playing group is and deservedly number 1 have they really achieved anything incredibly outstanding that we wouldn’t expect at test level.

Never won an Ashes in England
Never won in India
Haven’t beat India in Australia in over 5 years
The drawn West Indies series is a massive blip
Lost most recent series in South Africa so haven’t won their for 10 years.

If it wasn’t the for the WTC and more old school it would be a huge debate as to whether India or Aus is the number one side given the Aussies wouldn’t have knocked off India in their head to head series.
