Goes to show that ATCA likes some clubs and not others.

I got 4 weeks for apparently saying something to an outgoing batsman that no umpire could have possibly heard on the ground.

That was guilty on all charges x3 and only got 2 weeks. Heyzer needs to move on.

How is it Heyzer's fault? Surely there is a tribunal or similar that makes the call, not the GM?

Correct, Heyzer's role is generally an administration role.
He would have collected statements from the umpires, captains, and other key witnesses as required, but the ruling would have been made by one of the handful of commissioners ATCA has.

Oh, and it would be 4* rounds of the two day competition, not 4 weeks.
Yes, Rd 11 is a one dayer, but the semi final and grand final are two fairly big games to sit out.

* - note: I am assuming the 4 reported earlier in the thread is correct, mind you, normally these things aren't really closed out until Wednesday or Thursday, as it takes time to collect statements, consider, write a report, and offer the penalty to the club, then the club usually gets a day or two to consider and accept or take it to a tribunal hearing. As such, I'm not convinced we actually do know what he's got.

Well he can't plead not guilty so it's just the number of 2 day games he'll get.
Is it games or weeks?
4 two dayers v 4 weeks v 4 games, big difference!

Clearly two noises, and a very valuable wicket but the carry on was way over the top.

A big round this week in A1 will see several games impact finals and relegation.

I wonder if a few upsets are on the cards as teams throw all they can at getting the win.

Grange did not accept the offer and are taking it to a tribunal which I think is tonight.
Hard to guess what they are going to say, not like the facts are in dispute given the very clear audio available.

no_remorse28 wrote:I have only heard this second hand, so it's as only as good as those it has come from, as a club we were not a part of the process other then a statement from the players batting as asked for by ATCA. So it's been directly between the league and Grange, the league making the report I believe.

As for a fiery GF if that's the case, again I think this was more between the player and umpires then us as a team.

We look to try and finish a strong season Vs Trinity, who have been a bit of a thorn in the past, always seem to get them on a 40 degree day !

Hearing story now that Grange threatened to get Lawyers involved. So, ATCA just roll over due to this?? This was as bad as you can see, how he could still play in a Grand Final if they make it makes an absolute joke of the Association!

i hope thats not the case.....

I know that some games have frogbox others dont etc but at the end of the day if the evidence exists it should be used regardless of the source.

Watch the league cry around September next year that they dont have enough umpires to cover all grades.

Horrible decision.
