Modbury, the QEH and Noarlunga are all starting dedicated mental health facilities in the next 6 months which will ease a massive burden off the system.
The QEH new development is open, the Lyell Mc new development is open and Flinders is out to tender.
There's 8 new ambulance stations built or being built.
It's coming*.
Funding health is a never ending losing battle, State governments can’t keep up the expenditures required now, let alone in the future.
That’s said, Labor have kicked a few own goals with regards to their health policies and funding over many years.
Transforming health was an unmitigated disaster, and the recent spend on mental health services is more than offset by the way Labor previously gutted mental health services. Ramping speaks for itself, and the Labor strategy now is seemingly to ignore it and hope that people simply will forget their promises.
That said, I don’t think a change in government (more chance of me rooting Katy Perry than the Libs winning an election any time soon) will change much to improve health spending and outcomes, but sometimes worth putting things into perspective.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.
