They're in their 60's, it's not their first marriage, I've never met either of them and other than Mrs Boon know nobody at the wedding.

Fun.

I’m going to a wedding on Saturday for an 81 and 78 year olds.

Excited

Just reading an article on builders going broke and the various reasons.
Pretty ordinary reading really.

However one point really makes my blood boil is waiting for materials coming from overseas.
And because ships need to be re-routed due to the middle east cluster fck so costs go up.

I'm sure we've got everything needed in this country to build houses and commercial buildings.
If not, why not!

I get what you’re saying but if we sourced/produced locally it’d cost even more to build unfortunately

So why are houses so fckn expensive if we are sourcing cheaper inferior products overseas?

the labour.
Brickies getting paid over $2/brick, that sort of thing,
plus now the government has raised the price of houses by implementing a new NCC code, plus 7 star energy ratings.

When you're getting $2 a brick plus GST. No need to bust your arse laying 1000.

Employed a bricky back in January this year laid 3000ish bricks in 5 and a bit days.

2 days the labourer was is 16 year old son!

First day back at work after a holiday and it’s dragging along majorly.
The only bonus is that every day is a day closer to the next holiday.

Years and years ago, I had an old boss who'd always come back to work on a Wednesday, he swore by the short week after time off.
