Talk on the national game

daysofourlives wrote:Why do the AFL try to manufacture rivalries using the old Victorian clubs in the AFLW? The Carlton/Collingwood season opener is a joke, 2 very incompetent sides getting national exposure is a poor advertisement for the game.
How bout the AFLW forge some new traditions and ideas like the GF replay as the season opener, give everyone a fair go, lets not make it a carbon copy of the mens that remains VFL centric and prioritises profits. Jump on rivalries that are current and genuine to promote the game. The womens game isnt about crowds and maximising profits, why dont they focus on working towards a fair competition. Focus on getting to a 17 game season, play the opp at home one year and away the next.

Not that I'm an expert but I would've thought Adelaide and Brisbane would be the strongest rivalry in AFLW to date?

At the risk of being insensitive, the Crows girls are looking slow and unfit this year.

The media are happy to criticize the standard of umpiring in the men’s game, but the umpiring in the W is horrible, yet no one utters a word. I guess they’ve been silenced by the AFLW

The insufficient intent rule is undoubtedly the WORST rule in the history of the game and the AFL pretend there's nothing to see here

Emma was appointed to the Geelong Hawthorn game last night.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Shares it with Brisbane's Ally Anderson, remarkable they both do so on the same day.
