What are "play offs"?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

To continue Booney's education of what playoffs are, here's the latest on the divisional series:

Toronto won both opening games at home, take a 2-0 lead in the Bronx, absolutely lighting up Yankee pitching to plate 23 runs over two games!
As previously mentioned, the Mariners win game 2 to split their homestand with Detroit, Skubal looking near unhittable apart from two absolute bombs from Polanco.
The Dodgers win both games in Philly, great starting pitching displays from Ohtani & Snell, near bullpen meltdown today and Sasaki flourishing in his closer role.
The Brewers up 4-3 in the 4th today, leading 1-0 over the Cubs. 40 year old Justin Turner batting lead off for the Cubbies!

EDIT - Brewers win 7-3, take a 2-0 lead in the best of five series.

Yankees get one back on the Bluejays in New York, 9 to 6, series is 2-1, Toronto's way.

Mariners find play offs wins addictive and take game 3 in Detroit 8 to 4, to also stake a 2-1 series lead.

Interesting fact for Dodgers and Brewers fans, teams that take a 2-0 lead in the divisional series have won 80 out of 90 times.

Toronto led 6-1 early and the sweep looked a certainty.

Probably should be the end of Boone but I suspect they will just waste more money for nothing again next season

George would have sacked him last year, I'm not sure Hal has the same balls as his old man.

Dodgers walk off the Phillies in the bottom of the 11th to advance to the NLCS.

The delightfully named Orion Kerkering (wtf is it with Murican names???) comes on with 2 outs, Walks a batter to load the bases, then misfields a slow comebacker and throws it past the catcher for the winning run.

If the Dodger bats can wake up they'll romp this on, starting pitching has been absolutely lights out, bullpen for the most part has been exceptional (Sasaki with 3 scoreless innings today).

I'm assuming you mean catcher, and yes, it makes it all that much better that the pitcher couldn't throw the ball to the catcher

Couple of cracking game fives over the weekend, Mariners get over the Tigers in a 15 inning marathon, 3 to 2. They face the Blu Jays today in a best of seven series for the ALCS, wonder if using 7 pitchers on Saturday is going to be a big issue for them.

The Brewers beat the Cubs yesterday, 3 to 1. They now face the Dodgers in the NLCS, starting tomorrow.

Seattle take game one over Toronto, 3 to 1. Cal "Big Dumper" Raleigh with a home run and Jorge Polanco with another couple of clutch hits.

Whew, that got pulses going...

Dodgers hang on to take game one 2 to 1, Sasaki a bit wayward for the first time in his reliever role and Treinen loading the bases, then striking out the last hitter to ensure Blake Snell's absolutely amazing performance gets rewarded. 8.0 innings pitched, zero walks, one hit (to quote the great Harry Doyle "One hit? That's all we got?? One goddamn hit?") and 10 Ks, he has been utterly dominant so far this postseason. Even picked off the batter who got the lone hit off him!

Game 2 in the AL was a bit of snorefest, Seattle light up the Rogers Centre to take game two 10 to 3, winning both games in Toronto, and now headed home for the next three games, if needed. Certainly in the box seat to make their first ever World Series.

Wow, what a performance!

Yoshi Yamamoto goes the distance in a complete game for the Dodgers, winning 5-1 to take both games in Milwaukee.

After giving up a lead off home run in the bottom of the first inning, he pitched the full nine for 3 hits, one walk and seven strikeouts, while the Brewers went to the well after yesterday's bullpen game and had 6 pitchers appear.

All signs pointing to a West Coast World Series:

In postseason history, teams taking a 2-0 lead in any best-of-seven series have gone on to win it 78 of 93 times (83.9%). In series with the current 2-3-2 format, teams winning both Games 1 and 2 on the road have prevailed in the series 24 of 27 times (88.9%).
