AGM coming up so there will be a member elect vote I'd imagine.

In essence he was voted onto the board by the members on a Hinkley out platform ( untenable ) and as it turns out his position became untenable but his work was done.

I’m not surprised.

Due to the SovCit’s beliefs and litigious nature, the club would have had to make sure that they crossed and dotted every single possible scenario to cover all bases to mitigate him urguing his case any further.

Removed due to what someone else said? I don't like the guy but think he has been poorly treated here.

C’mon, you can’t be serious?

“Amongst other things, the board formally requested that Mr Tredrea agree to a Club Statement which included an apology to the club and anyone who took offence to the comments made on his podcast by Mr AJ Roberts,” the Power said.

“Mr Tredrea refused to agree with the public apology request to close out the matter.

“The board has afforded Mr Tredrea numerous opportunities to reconsider his position, which he has not changed.

“After exhausting all reasonable avenues for resolution, the board determined that Mr Tredrea’s continuation as a director was not in the best interests of the club.”

That’s fairly standard practice that if a guest of any media outlet spews radical views that could upset a section of the community or is out of step with community norms (attacking the actions of Jews during WWII is right up there) then that media outlet will apologies for those statements and clearly state that the views are of the guest and not of them. It doesn’t prohibit free speech, doesn’t stop him from having a podcast, but ensures that a representative of the club behaves in a way that isn’t a detriment to the club.

By not making such a statement, Tredrea is effectively condoning what was said by his guest.

Tredrea is a 1st class moron who can do whatever he likes as SovCit, but when he’s not solely representing himself, as was the case as a Board member, then he has to adhere to some standards.

C’mon Dutch, you and I have both signed similar forms to what Tredrea did when you become an official of a club that you agree to uphold the values and policies of the club.

He broke them and pays the price.

If he was the bootstudder he would’ve been out on his ear ages ago. Only way he could have survived is if he was still the 2nd best CHF (behind J Brown) in the competition as all AFL clubs don’t get rid of good players while they are still useful to the “ W” column (a reflection of the system not Port)

He broke the club values and brought reputational damage to the club. Port had no option and did the right thing appropriately to try avoid any come back by the SovCit git.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

This was his statement below back in June which I thought would have made it clear where he stands -

Let me make it abundantly clear. I unequivocally condemn war and genocide, and seek only to share other perspectives of what has been a very one way reported narrative in the mainstream media. I am not in any way, shape, or form, an antisemite, and consider it defamatory for anyone to accuse me as such.

As someone who always aims to do the moral and good thing even when it’s hard, my ultimate goal is to create unity and cohesion whilst pursuing a fair go for all.

The problem with Tredders is he's not half as smart as he thinks he is.

He actively recruited a fkwit to appear on his podcast and the guy duly provided what he was there for, bizarre fkwit opinions. He gave the guy a platform to spew his garbage so deserves every thing that comes from that. FAFO. Tredders has found himself in a rather large hole and decided the only way out is to keep digging.

That’s not an apology, he’s basically condoning his guest’s comments.

Not sure how you get that out of his statement, his platform is about getting alternate opinions and views, he clearly says they are not his views.

Anyway it doesn't really fuss me TBH, although its a pretty slippery slope for Port to go down, Koch isn't perfect either, Eddie McGuire made racist comments and retained his presidency. This smells of using this excuse to get rid of him.
