I suspect that it has happened more times over history than would be expected by pure random chance, thanks to deliberate programming of better-performed teams in the early rounds.

Personally I'm fine with the SANFL starting when it does. Starts to actually feel like footy season come the end of March into April.

If the AFL wishes to keep creeping towards summer and cricket season, so be it..

Heard from a senior SANFL player they are getting extremely frustrated with the SANFL hierarchy re their claims for increase in salary cap to match the exodus of players getting ridiculous money in other Leagues.

Got to the stage of potential strike action, so don’t be surprised if all players this round take a stand and sit on the ground for 30 seconds at the start of each match
