You sure? I'd heard the change happened because a significant number of letters addressed to Chicago SA were ending up in Chicago USA.

Not sure that the similar name would mean much. When I worked in Ferntree Gully in Melbourne a letter from elsewhere in Ferntree Gully got to me via the UK, "Redirected by Royal Mail".
As far as I know there is no Ferntree Gully in the UK to have triggered that.

"Burbank" was where Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders Uni now are.

"Centenial Pk", now Pasadena, only the cemetery has kept the name.

Cowandilla was spelt Cowandillah

Funny that Drapper was a suburb and Midlunga who knows .I know my part of taperoo used to be in Largs North until the boundaries were chaaged many years ago.I wonder if Midlunga was a short lived suburb .
