How is that fair? I think players should be allowed to go up in finals ........i think youll find that none of these guys played in the A s the following week,,more than likely played B s again...is this right

Im not sure if they played again in the B's i know they didnt play play A Grade. My question about Brown just really came about because i know a few boys at Paralowie and what they had happen this week and also because it was the same thing the SAAFL told me on monday and when i checked CLG team sheet Friday A Brown was named on the team sheet and no permit on the SAAFL site was applied for? So just thought i would try and fish around for other peoples views on what the rules R or R NOT?

for the paralowie instance i think youll find its in the wording......player named in A team as a replacment hasnt played in 12 weeks.......also A brown didnt need to get a permit as the free interchange rule would apply as clg had the a s and b s participating in finals and browny had played the last 6 plus a final...no permit req.....

Yeh thats what i thought but SAAFL told me different. Who knows? anyway doesnt really matter to my team now anyway would just be nice if the SAAFL gave the right information to people.

eg: You F&^%&* $*%&^( #&%&^@ (thumps wall) You $%#&%$^% %%^&*%^ $^%&#* (thumps wall)
For a minute there he was screaming with such a high pitched voice I thought one of the players had a hold of his balls..

Give credit where credit is due, he's obviously done some good work with this side over the past couple of years but that was a weeny bit over the top IMO

Charlie just went about his address through the whole thing in a very calm manner and didn't even blink to it... amazing..

NO..

Yeh my boys thought i yell allot i wish i could have sat them in one of his half time addresses so they could witness what yelling and abuse really is

weeny bit over the top IMO listening to him going off his tree, I would think only fired up the HV boys to want to win even more.

But your right CLG have had 2 good seasons so maybe i should give it a try next season?

He wasnt calm when we played you guys rd 17 and you guys were beating a 6th placed side????

Thought FC description was pretty tame, and quite low key compared to how some could have put it.

From the SAAFL newsletter:

Finals Eligibility
The whole point of having rules for finals eligibility is to make it as fair as possible.
The other point is that the rules can not possibly legislate for every situation and that is
why there is a permit committee to make interpretation and to rule on fairness. When a
club has 2 teams (eg A & B) in the finals, there is free interchange between those
teams just like a normal home and away match. When these 2 teams are in finals and
the higher graded team has a BYE, they must submit a team sheet. It is like a “frozen
in time” scenario.
When they play a week apart, the team that plays later is frozen in
time to replicate the normal Saturday match when one team plays immediately after
the other.
Eg The A team has a BYE in the first week and the club wants to drop a number of it’s
A players to the B team that is playing. This is still the prerogative of the club but
these players are then ineligible to play in the A team the following week.

The other way of determining eligibility is by their games record ie. whether the player
has played most of his games in the division he seeks eligibility. In all situations when
unsure, check with the office or fill in a permit form.

Second bolded point lends itself to what Trinity has been saying IMO. Having said that, given that the likes of Brown and Maddocks played B Grade the week before the finals, I suppose they weren't necessarily been "dropped" to the Bs for the first final.

(First bolded point - seems that "free interchange" can only occur if both A and B team are playing in the same week)
