Nothing beats the two clowns who had a long-running feud that ended in fisticuffs, court action and segregation - one clown at the Rundle Street end the other clown at the Hindley Street end.

That scruffy, surly clown with a three o'clock shadow and a ciggie permanently perched on his bottom lip must have been the inspiration for Krusty, surely?

The buskers don't annoy me, the people who stand around and watch them while Im trying to walk down Rundle Mall do though!

PS They had a beatboxer yesterday who had been on JJJ before, I think he's called the Sherminator or something and he was unbelivable!

Yes that annoys me too.

and i tell you someone else who pisses me off... the guy who sprooks out the front of peter shearer mens wear. You know the one.... he has half a ton of gel in his hair. he always trys to interact with people passing by. i'll go to the other side of the mall just to avoid him, just in case he trys to get me involved.

i'd be interested to see if sprookers actually help a stores sales because i don't even listen to them.

When I was a teenage arsehole (as opposed to a 20 something arsehole), I got chased down Rundle Mall by one of those human statues because I put a half licked chuppa chup in his hand.

Last year I saw a really fantastic busker, was doing heaps of acrobatic tricks, somersaults off a big platform, etc.

Was all good until towards the end when he was about to pass his hat around. He told everyone not to bother with coins. Said not to give him money unless it was at least a $5 note, and preferably $10 or higher.

Pretty much everyone just walked away. People would probably have given him a fair amount of money, but he just came across as greedy and ended up with jack.

There's an absolute mongrel who's been busking in the mall for 20 (ish) years? Wears a dicky bow and a waistcoat and dixie type of hat. Sings really loud and thinks he sounds the goods. He shits me to tears. Glad I don't work near the mall anymore because that mongrel is still there.

ahh yes... i know the one.

We need to do what they are starting to do in melbourne. auditioning them first before we let them perform in the mall. That would eliminate a lot of the crap.

That has not worked yet. Still a lot of crap in the mall and Southbank. They regularly ask for more than coins too. I walk away at that.

There was a few good professionals during the Fringe Festival. Almost made trying to walk through the mall an impossibility.

Does anyone remember a woman who was in the mall in about 2000, was one of those statue type people, and she wore a white wedding dress?

No, she was only there for about a month in 2000. Her name is Amanda Palmer, she's the singer from the Dresden Dolls, who are playing here next month. She did it while she was here for the Adelaide Fringe, which she was performing in.
