At the Wildlife Park they used to let you hold the baby crocs. Dont know if they still do. They tape there mouths shut. I did it when i was 6 or 7. Crapped myself but the photo was pretty cool.

Yeah you can still do that at the Croc parks or even Croc cove on Mitchell Street.

Well 25 years ago two of the nightclubs in Darwin were called Dix (stuart Hwy Stuart park) and Fannies (Edmund st the City)...

Fannies is still going but under a different name.

This thread brings back some great memories for me .
in 1989 I bussed it up to Darwin to open the Casuarina hungry jacks and spent 7 weeks of the greatest times in my life.
The beachcomber was the last place I visited before my flight home at 8.30am and it's fair to say I was tanked as I boarded the plane.
Fannys and the Parap hotel were good but I went to the Nightcliffe and walked straight back out.Darwins version of adelaides century hotel.

Too rough for a 17 year old at the time.
Loved Darwin but could never live there.
swims at 4.00am after work.
discovering stubby holders are a necessity.
sweating 2 seconds after a shower...heheh

I believe at the same time if my memory serves me, there was also a nightclub called 21st century?

Don't go to Kakadu, most overrated Tourist destination Ive been to in my life and Im still shitty I wont get those 2 days back I spent there.
If you want to see Kakadu just go out to the hottest most stinking part of South Australia, add 10 degrees, add humidity, add water, add a couple of hand paintings and crocs and Bingo.
