Nick Jolly, was, is and will always be a freak. He was talented as a kid but perhaps lacked a bit of confidence at the beginning but Macca has done wonders and has produced him into a damn fine footballer. Unfortunately, when he has a bad kicking day, his tally looks like a 1989 North Adelaide Grand final score

It would be good if they can shake the slow starter tag. Another year of mediocrity and you'd think PBTB would be having a re-think about the coach and whether he can lift them to the next level.

Mind you, mathematically speaking, if they lost the first 3 in 2007 and lost the first 6 in 2008, does this mean they'll lose the first 9 in 2009?

Just a thought

To lose the first nine would be a complete shock considering some of the hopes i have heard due to the squad they have. I was asking for confirmation regarding Red Dog should of had a ? in there so he is missing this week. that plus swayney and radetti would almost put them on the back foot. Although someone mentioned Tys Burrows and Tex were back in form and finding plenty of the ball on the weekend. so who knows. there is definately some excitement in the air for divvy 2.
so lets hear the first round tips for div 2 .

Red dog definately playing. should be a tight one this season. Wonder if the first 6 will be more successfull than last year or even three the year before. Payneham always been slow starters or is this just a div two issue. is that big young guy angelina Jolie still going. he was a freak when i saw him i think he was only 17 and kicking 60m easy.

I don't think the loss will affect confidence at all. A div 2 side striving to step it up a notch losing to arguably the best div 1 side by a margin not completely demoralising. I'm sure Goodwood we're not at full strength, however they beat sides last year by more than 10-12 goals. Morale around the falcons seems high, like most sides will be missing a few for round one but hoping to claim an early win.

I agree Pie,
from what i have heard the morale is high around the falcon nest, seems as though the boys are raring to go this week. a few outs may hurt but at the same time rumours have it selection will be tough thursday night for macca and the coaching staff as a lot of players have impressed in the off season. Might even be difficult for the injured to return but we shall see. my hot tip for the weekend is Payneham may struggle against the running young ramblers but the big man Jolly if recovered from his dominance on the weekend is up and running he will be hard to match, along with the run from the backlines from the cheese grater and young Jay the Play maker Cheney should be a great game, i think payneham by 3 goals, those three goals coming from a speedy midfield combo of lowe and loui and Tex. I think Flinders may get up, PHOS to have a heartbreaking loss but to bounce back and finish minor premiers.

Can anyone confirm if Shane Harris from Portland, Eagles, Port Adelaide Magpies has signed with Flinders Park?

Can't confirm he's signed but he has trained and played a trial game with Flinders. Good mates with a couple of the boys out there!

Thats interesting, as he told the coaching staff at Portland that he was having the weekend off to 'stay fresh' for the Magpies.
