Well good to see his decision has been made early on. Now the eagles can move on from attempts to lure him back to SA and throw everything at luring a quality onballer from interstate

Exactly. While it would have been nice to have Skipworth back, all this will he or won't he business would suggest we stop trying to get him back. Obviously his heart isn't in the club anymore, it's in Victoria.

Not that I'm sticking up for Holden. And no my source is not the pie man .But pretty much the gossip around at the time of the Eagles first training run was that the club had lost interest in skippy.

If you must know I spoke to Rogers about our chances just before the best and fairest ; he was very sure he would stay in Victoria again .

Eagles player Glen Dawson has been delisted by the Pwer this afternoon in order to free them up a selection in the AFL Pre-Season Draft.

Dawson never played an AFL game but has been invited to continue training on with the Power in the hope of being listed as a rookie.

If not placed on the Power's list as a rookie, one would assume he will stay with the Eagles in the SANFL being a local lad and all ???

Didnt have a great year this year, would have missed more games than he played and really seemed to struggle in the ones that he did play. Reminds me a bit of Brett Burton the way he jumps and lands awkwardly and seems to make the mundane look spectacular, hopefully he can impress and get another chance as a rookie.
Trust the process.

He is played at FF and struggled last year when Passador came back .And had to play up the ground.
For my money he is to slight of build to play FF.But he can certainly leap.
And in 09 seemed injury plagued .

Alot of first year players in the AFL system are injury plagued. This is due to the massive increase of workload that they are simply not used to! I feel for the kid after being on a 2 year contract when being picked up and then being delisted.

Its not like the power can pay for someone thats not even playing for them ;)

The Eagles killed this kid playing him at full forward. When was the last time an 18yo 6 foot tall full forward succeeded at reserves level. It may work at under 19 level but not reserves.

He should be developed as a HBF.

MMM perhaps it was the Power wanting him played at FF.
Pre being drafted I watched him play trial games at HFF he does have a great leap.
If he stays at Oval Ave I hope "GOD" has a new plan in mind for him.

Pity about Dabrowski retiring. He has been very good for the Eagles leading the ruck since Lindsay left. They were big shoes to fill. The recruiting of key ruckman and the expected improvement of Redden should see us be fine in this area though, even without Dabrowski.

Is there any chance Shirley will come back to the Eagles? I see he has nominated for the pre-season draft. Or are those Canberra plans set in stone if he doesn't get back in the AFL system?
