The Treasury, Jolly's Boathouse or the Red Ochre are great in the CBD.
Magill Estate Winery is supposed to be good but I've never made it there myself yet.
I enjoyed the Mt Lofty lookout restaurant the time I went there a few years back.
Not sure about Lenzeheide or Alphutte these days - others may know.

In the "nice pub" range, the Edinburgh and the Earl of Leicester aren't bad. After a meal at the Bridgewater Inn the other day, I can highly recommend that place too!

There's also a winery at Balhannah which has a GREAT restaurant - not cheap by any means but the food and service are magnificent. Maximillians. One of the best meals I've had. http://www.maximilians.com.au/ Service is excellent too. They even have a wine tasting bar. It's just down the road from Hahndorf.

I have a suggestion though - where was your wedding reception? We have a tradition of eating at our reception venue every year on our anniversary, but if your reception wasn't at a restaurant that might be a bit difficult.

Our reception was at Mt Lofty house, we have considered going back there but we are leaning towards a different location.

my late dh took me to Magill Estate where he booked the tour (we saw all the vintages of the Grange) and we had the degaustation (sp) menu .. iirc was quite expensive (around $350 which did include a $50 bottle of wine).. the views from there are superb and now looking back is a great memory that I will have in my heart forever... (my dh did love the finer things in life - me just being one lol )
RIP my DH 1964 - 2009 - You were one of the best and I miss you

I'd also recommend Windy Point, but the best restaurant in Adelaide by a fair way, IMO, is The Manse at Tynte Street,

A totally different dining experience, absolutely top class. Not cheap, but similar to Windy Point and nowhere near as expensive as Magill Estate.

Too right, The Manse is seriously good. IIRC, we walked out of there $250 lighter in the wallet department though. I think that was for three courses, drinks and even a cognac to finish though, so you could get away much better than that.

Try the Monte Penne Silvano!

This place is the best, me and the missus get 2 meals (entree & main) garlic bread, a few frothies & wines and a little tip as the people working there are super attentive and nice and still walk out of their under $100.

Then ice creams down the road.
Works a treat.

Beautiful food last night at the river cafe. The duck breast was superb as was the gnocchi. Certainly recommend this place for others.

Even made for a lucky night :D ;)
