Port and Western drew, from what I saw Port should have won, burnt a lot of chances! But they will def be hard to beat on that performance, good for the comp...

Onkas over us by 10, we were poor, missed chances, gave up goals... Onkas took their chances, ran harder, cleaner skills.

Special mention to the worst tough guy of all time from Onkas... A true lesson in picking your fights carefully, as boy did that backfire on him!

onkas by about 10. better side on the night. much more clinical than flinders in the final third. thought tommy did a good job officiating the game. few silly errors defense didn't help Flinders cause.

port and western drew. great effort by the port boys. much deserved

Onkas v Fliders was a cracker. Fast, electric skillful game where Onkas made the most of their chances and got the chocolates. One unfortunate incident but that can happen and to the credit of both teams an explosive situation was controlled as both teams showed discipline when it would have been easy to over react. The new flinders are great to watch and full credit must go to Dale and Val for the culture they are creating and the improvement in their club. For the first time in years they play good disciplined Gaelic every week. Having said that Onkas are the team to beat. They have got some deadly footballers and move the ball beautifully.

The Port v WI game will go down as the most disappointing game I have reffed. Port worked there ass off and battled to earn a draw as WI squandered maybe a dozen second half chances with the breeze. Somehow the ref became the reason for the comeback which I find pathetic. The tirade of abuse during and after the game was the worst I have copped. No less than 5 players were lucky to escape without red cards. I hate giving red cards but calling the ref " A ******* disgrace" post game and making a be line to tell a ref " your the first ref whose hand I will refuse to shake". All I can say is shame on you. Whilst it's not fair to bag the club. The 5 individuals should be ashamed of themselves, you let down yourself, your club and the game down. To the rest of the club i say bad luck on the draw and apologise if you think you had a rough deal. To those 5 I say. I have reffed over 500 games and from all unbiased reports did an ok job. Between the 5 of you not one game reffed ever. One thing is for sure , next time I won't be giving the benefit of the doubt as your attack on me was "The disgrace" and not my attempt to do my job.

Oh and congrats to Brad Ditmarr on his 50th game. Is it any wonder he has just been signed by a Div 1 club. Talk about putting the team on your back :)

Well that is a huge disappointment for a number of reasons, it is disrespectful to yourself and to the Port side who played quite well for a majority of the game. We must have played reasonably well if even Flinders O'Neill players/supporters are commending us :D :D

But in all seriousness, Javor is easily the best ref the GFHASA, and are lucky to have his services. Very consistent and clear with his calls, and lets things go where possible. Can keep control of the game better than any other too as evidenced by the Onkas/Flinders game last night...any other ref would have most likely needed to call the game off I'd say. It was very enjoyable myself being able to play with consistent and concise refereeing last night, as opposed to what the last few games have been (sorry for sort of slagging off on the umps, they largely a good job, and appreciate the time they put in).
I thought that WI would be better than this, but obviously theyre just 'good winners'. The whole game they were whinging, especially when they had clearly infringed. It appeared to me that Port knew the rules better than the more experienced WI did... exemplified by their kick ins (less than 13m on a few occasions), and their kick ins from a side line kick, which eventually cost them the equalising under. WI had their fair share of free's, but could not convert in front of goal, particularly in the second half.

Onto the actual game now, which I thought was a hard fought game the whole way through, largely in good spirits. Port had a fairly strong line up, and was good to have the services of Mahney and Pink for the first time this season, who both had an impact on the result. The guys new to the sport this season are also starting to become more consistent which is a good sign for us.
This was arguably our best whole game performance, but in saying that i was still bitterly disappointed to have to come away sharing the points. Both sides squandered many chances in front of goal... WI a number of free's in the second half, and Port many gettable missed shots in regular play.
Mahney was quite handy in goals in the second half, while his good mate Pink was great off the half back line. JJ played arguably his best game thus far, his skills for a lad who hasn't played a whole season yet is quite impressive. Nikou and Rose were also quite solid down back, giving away free's when needed, and winning their fair share of 50/50 contests. The real difference I thought from our performances in previous weeks however was the performance of H Pocock. He was quite dynamic up forward, scoring our under, and I think more than half our score.
Still a lot of improvement left if Clay can get out of the goal keeping and Wiseman can get back to do the kick ins.

WI did not have too many passengers, thought they played ok. #20 and #6 in particular were good for them, as well as their keeper, who saved some reasonably good challenges. #20 is quite quick and skillful for his height.

Yea that guy is a gun, 50 games is a reasonable effort in Gaelic footy with few games each season (in comparison to footy). I think you'll find that he was at a D1 club this year though too WW :)

Yeah that's right he is a man of unlimited talents Div 1 footballer, Star Gaelic footballer, radio mega star, professional commentator, lawyer and lawn bowls specialist. No wonder Port are on the way up. ;)

Cash- I would have thought its common knowledge for someone to have knowledge of an incident before making uninformed assumptions? Especially when it comes to defaming a persons character on a forum.

Hahaha oh Cash 123, you really aren't a bright spark are you....

Flinders didn't throw a punch last week.....

And in the stoush with Port one player threw a jab and was set upon by you and 13 other brave Port players...

Why don't you continue to celebrate your draw cash, that and sucking up wristys arse...
