Not worried about playing against him at all.
More worried about the message it sends to the poor lad who's played all year that misses out on the game so the coach can wheel his 40+ yo brother with a bung leg into the team.

This rumour has been going around for a few weeks now. I'm pretty confident to say that the HFL clubs will not vote Hackham in - they are not a Hills based club.

Closer than Sedan Cambrai..... Wouldn't be surprised if they are given a 2 year deal like Sedan were originally given...

Have Nairne or Bridgewater indicated that they are willing to go up to Central next year.... the country comp could look a bit different again next year....

Could have one of the top 2 teams out (Nairne or Bridgewater) and have Echunga back down.

Plus if they are voted in Hackham as well.

From what I've heard neither side wants to go up. Both are happy as they are for the time being. Nairne seem to have done it the right way by building from their juniors up, and won't go up just for their A grade like a certain club....

can not believe the rumours about hackam joining the hfl what a joke.i believe the hfl were forced to accept sedan.while on divisions i hope it will remain as is next year leave echunga where they are.while on the hfl how on earth do they select ovals for thr finals.i now understand they are considering maccy or birdwood when other ovals have not even been used for one final.

I'm sure they would contribute more to the competition than Sedan (including junior teams), however they are not a HILLS based club - they will not be voted in.

Perhaps then they mightn't thinks its funny when they have split someone's head open behind play or flashed the crown jewels to the crowd. From my understanding they have. Umpires would have trouble seeing the incident as it was that far behind play.

Not even behind the play; there was no play. A goal had been scored and the ball was being brought to the middle. There was no melee, no scuffle or any push and shove. By all reports was completely out of the blue and unprovoked.
Will be interesting how the HFL go. Birdwood filed a report for a strike a few weeks ago, backed up by video footage and the HFL did nothing. No video footage this time.

Surely common sense is used here... they take a look at the photos of the outcome and they have to do something about it... if they did nothing with video footage/evidence then seems unlikely they will do anything with a photo, pi$$ poor!!

A player in the SAAFL earlier this season got reported after a game, the club filed a report during the week after the game, showed pictures and he got 3 games for it. No video or photographic evidence to say he committed the incident yet still got 3 games... if the HFL don't make a stand on this then maybe they are the pathetic ones as well...

In the SAAFL if a player accumulates more than 12 weeks suspension in 2 or 3 years, they're automatically suspended and black marks go against the club they play for. Too many and the club is fined and can lose points across all grades. Repeated problems and clubs can be forced down divisions or deregistered from the League. The League also is harsh on penalties at the tribunal. This has led to a dramatic decrease in on field violence even if it still occurs. What it has led to is that the clubs and players themselves are leading anti-violence thrusts as it can have major ramifications on their ability to compete eg Rosewater were looking at playing finals, now because of one major act and a history of other minor acts they will not.

Does the Hills League have something similar?
