What?

No Bond girl
No henchman
Gay, whiney villian
M getting way too much air time

Not bad but mid table for me, but I am one of the few Bond fans that likes Golden Gun.

I didn't enjoy it that much the first time.
But after watching it a second time I thought it was okay.
Was necessary for Bond to get back to old school Bond, with the introduction of Moneypenny and a male M.

I think it was the change in story line (compared to what REB outlined) that did it for me. It was upsetting that there was no "Bond Girl" but I can get over that because the movie was done very well.
Very much looking forward to the next installment with the male M and Moneypenny coming back in to it also.

Don't know the name of the Jack of Diamonds guy, but he was hilarious.
Christopher Walken also good.

The Raid.

Can see why people raved about it quite possibly the best martial-arts movie I've ever seen.

Watched a couple last night:

Hangover Part III - Had a few laughs in it, but was easily the worst of the 3.

Savages - Didn't mind it at all, the ending maybe could have been a bit better, but otherwise a pretty decent flick.

The Purge

Its about America having a "purge night" where all Emergency Services are disabled, and any crime becomes legal, for 12 hours only. This is to let people get their aggression out, and leads to 1% unemployment and little to no crime throughout the rest of the year.

Its starts well, bit of a lull in the middle, and then finishes well too.

It has Rhys Wakefield from Home & Away, as well as Ethan Hawke.

7/10

Watched Cockneys v Zombies last week. Had its moments of hilarity.

Finally got to watch Sharknado on Saturday night. Gold.
Fair to say, if it hadn't already, Ian Ziering's career has jumped the shark.

Great, no, astoundingly brilliant when it focuses on the mission / space stuff. Turns to Hollywood crud when it shifts to focus on Sandra Bullock

Rush - Exactly what the title suggests - a rush! Daniel Bruhl dominates as Lauda. Don't drive immediately after seeing it. Have a coffee or something first. Maybe some booze and a joint like James Hunt.

Gravity - Most spectacular B-Grade movie ever made. Good but not great. Will pick up a swag of technical Oscars at the very least.

Prisoners - Pretty flat. One-note. And long.

The Intouchables - Mistook this for DePalma's classic The Untouchables. Moving little French flick. Funny and poignant.

Caught this the other night. Felt like a bland TV episode. Only highlight was the worst line of dialogue I've heard for some time:

"I have orgasms. He has wargasms."

Is that the one with Nick Nolte? Probably the best war movie I've seen.
