Just watched Elysium. The whole movie was entertaining, but the end (and the ramifications that are never mentioned) actually really annoyed me.

SPOILER
Making everyone citizens of Elysium, therefore allowing them to use those healing machines, would effectively stamp out disease and other things that result in deaths. The already grossly over-populated Earth would be even more over-populated, compounding the original issue.

Stupid ending. I actually went on a rant to the missus. She had to tell me to sit down

I went to see One Chance on Sunday night. It was surprisingly good, I nearly choked up on several occasions. A definite feel-good movie.
Probably the best I have seen since The Help.

Cheers

I haven't NOT laughed through a movie in a long time.

And I'm a MASSIVE Will Ferrell/Adam McKay fan.

Okay, they're movies are rarely any good.

But they're usually good for a laugh.

This was atrocious.

I think the idea was that the haves would stop isolating themselves from the have nots and could then start to spend their excess money on different ways to solve the problem. Ways that help a greater number of people than the wealthy 1% of society.

A little idealistic I agree, but a worthwhile idea all the same. While naive to think those healing machines could heal millions back here on Earth without there being riots in the queues, the idea that such advanced health care is only available to the very rich is an alarming prospect.

Few good laughs but a piss weak storyline, like the other 2 sequels I saw this year it was inferior to the original.

Was just watching oranges and sunshine on gem. Moving account of the woman who discovered the secret of the child migration scheme.
Also noticeable were the many Adelaide landmarks used in the film.
