Watched it this morning on the flight, and it was okay, and yes boring in parts.

The cotton plantation owner (name?) was a fantastic performance. Pure crazy evil. Stole the show.

Out of this years Oscars, Dallas Buyers Club was easily best, although I haven't seen 'her' yet.

Don't watch gravity Wedgie. It's mentioned under boring in the dictionary.

Disregard , it was Failed Creation. Just assumed it was you that recommended it as it was full of violence and laughter. Bit like Kenny Powers with more violence but a different sport!

Wolf was all hype. As a movie reviewer said, everyone got conned again making that movie.

I thought American Hustle was average too.
Still have Wolf to watch

I liked Wolf of Wall St.
With Boiler Room being one of my faves it was right up my alley.

Captain America: the Winter Soldier. Not as good as The First Avenger IMO but I still really enjoyed it.

Looking forward to the Ulimate Spiderman 2 now, aswell as X-Men Days of Future Past, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the new Godzilla.

Watched Wolf of Wall Street and Lone Survivor on the weekend. They are both good movies, but I read both books before watching the movies, and there are a lot of extra stuff, or complete fabrications, that annoyed me a bit.

The Wolf on Wall Street was pretty accurate, except they changed the sequence of a few events, and added Jonah Hills character into situations the real guy wasn't in.

Lone Survivor bugged me a fair bit, because a lot of what actually happened was left out, and some more action sequences were added. If they made it exactly like it is told in the book, it would have been a better movie and tribute to the fallen soldiers. A few changes here and there I could understand, but there were changes everywhere.

Im gonna list a few things they changed below if anyones interested.

* None of the soldiers died how they were shown in the movie. Danny Deitz (communication guy) died while being dragged by Marcus Luttrell. He did not wake up, and the Taliban didnt catch up to him while he was still alive.

Mike Murphy did not die where he was shot using the cell phone. He was shot there, but made it back to Marcus Luttrells position, then to another position to lay down cover fire. In the book Marcus tells of Murphys screams for help in the latter position, which is brought up a few times as something that will stick with him for life. They dont even show it.

Mathew Axelson had a bullet through his face, but was still conscious, until an RPG hit close to him and Marcus, blowing Marcus down a cliff. He never saw Axelson after that. He was not shot in the head leaning against a tree.

* Marcus stayed laying on his stomach, back to a rock wall overnight, not budging (this isnt shown). He crawled for hours, and then was engaged again and shot in the thigh (none of this was shown).

* The taliban never attacked the village, he was never taken by the taliban to be beheaded. The Army Rangers found him in the bush with some villagers making their way to an Army base nearby, not in the village.

*The Army and Marcus stayed in the village for a few hours and had tea with the village before leaving. Marcus' heart didnt stop, and he walked onto and off of the rescue helicopter, with help.

The length of this rant probably hints at how disappointed I was at how they changed the story so much, when they could have just followed the book.

I didn't think much of the Lone Survivor, and now given the amount of detail they skipped on, im terribly disappointed

If I hadn't read the book first, I probably would have liked it better, but the changes in the story annoyed me.

Marcus Luttrells cameos were pretty good though. He's the one tipping the coffee over the table for the rookie to clean up. He's also in the ill-fated chopper.

watched Goodfellas last night... Pretty awesome. Joe Pesci is awesome and I'm not a Ray Liotta fan but he was brilliant...

watching 'the railway man'... really looking forward to it...
