A one MILLION dollar reward for information on the Beaumonts and Adelaide oval girls abduction leading to an arrest. Hasn't it already been established that a companion of Mr Von Einemn (or even the man himself) was at the beach on that day? I think there was a photo in the paper and no one realised who it was until a few years ago.

Why now, 40 and 50 years later? Chances of any witnessess being alive to tell their tales is SFA.

Our force doesn't have a fantastic record of solving these types of crimes, do they... Just like the mysterious man on the beach.

I've never heard that about the beaumonts & Von Einemn theory... he was 100% involved in the Kelvin case though.... Police were forced to arrest him due to public outrage, but missed on getting the majority of the 'family' due to the early arrest...

i think some cases will never be solved regardless of the sources you have... Which is sad. I think it's good PR stunt to show they are still trying to find the truth... Which i know they are trying hard to.... Also i reckon it would help the families cope alot better knowing they are still working hard to do so... Obviously you'd love some closure on these cases...

About the time of the von Einem arrest there was talk that the "Family" contained some well known, and politically and legally influential, Adelaide figures, and that von Einem draw the short straw when it came to somebody in the group having to be sacrificed to pacify the public. There were suggestions his aged mother was at risk if he did not go through with it and that she and he would be well compensated if he took the rap alone.

I can't prove any of that was true, but was inclined to believe it because I did know who was the Adelaide doctor involved in another matter, the drowning of the lawyer Dr Duncan in the Torrens, and did hear from police contacts unpublished details of the Salisbury affair. There seemed to be connections between all these matters at the time.

No you didn't. Sochi has been around in some form since the 6th Century. Stalin made it popular as a resort town as he went there on his holidays.

One would've thought they'd hire people who could actually sing to be in the commercial... but obviously they didn't.

The dog started going nuts so I went down the side and the ETSA meter reader is a the box*

He sees me and says " I can't read your meter, it's digital and you have no power"
