Watch for Ty Allen to jump out to an early lead with a heap of votes between rounds 2 and 8, and then come home with best on grounds in rounds 22 and 23 to steal the medal for Glenelg! I think he is excellent value with the bookmakers at $26 for the win.

Disclaimer: It is notoriously difficult to predict who the umpires will vote for, so my prediction may be well off the mark...

Clint Alleway had a great season, particularly early on, I expect him to poll well and will be around the leader mark by round 12, may just have enough to hang on or tie with McKenzie from the Eagles, cant believe Alleway is showing over $100 to win, am listening from the quiet suburb of Vale Park, kids tuned in as well

I will be listening in from Port Lincoln tonight, over here on a business trip (not fishing unfortunately !!)

Good luck with the call tonight guys, although unlikely, would love for another Centrals player to win it tonight, maybe Chad O'Sullivan ?

Cheers,

Big Phil...

If McKenzie is going to win it, he will have probably no more than 18 votes; and poll in no more than 7 matches. 5 of these I am guessing in consecutive matches - Rounds 17, 18, 19, 21 and 22. That is, if he does poll in them.

I remember a couple of years ago I thought he was a chance and he ended up polling bugger all. Then last year I didn't think he was as good, but he polled a fair few votes before he got injured. As you said, he should poll well late in the season, but I have no idea how any of the players from the other clubs will go - that's what makes it interesting to watch, or listen to as is the case this year...

Yes, he polled three votes in each of the first four wins of last season.
He polled 16 votes in the SAFooty award (which James Allan won) if you made it a 3-2-1 and not 5-4-3-2-1.
He polled 17 votes in the Advertiser award - Jeremy Clayton polled one vote in the last round to win that. Jade Sheedy was also on 17 votes.

A genuine question - Will the winner get more votes than Westies as a club?

I'd say it's unlikely, using the SAFooty votes as a guide, West got 23 votes. I don't think the winner will get that many, in my opinion.

my mail from a sturt mate is usually very accurate, the last couple of years he said ben nelson woould be a chance & he wasn't far away, this year big gavin said while he wont poll a vote in the first half of the season scott macglone's (hope i spelt it correctly) 2nd half was exceptional & he maybe able to storm home into a top 3 finish

good luck to life fm's broadcast & to the broadcasting team
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
