a lot of people complain about seeing inane posts from their friends, yet still continue to read them!

The best thing to do is unfollow all of the people that annoy you. That is different to defriending so they dont get all butthurt about it, but you still dont have to see their posts

I almost use it as a news aggregator in a lot of ways, though twitter is better for that purpose.

another big advantage is the ease at which you can set up a small group or invite. it makes it so easy to communicate with a lot of people quickly.

So there are big advantages if you are prepared to put up with and or block the crap that comes with it.

Good idea. I have unfollowed the person who writes 'I sharted' at least five times a week on their FB page.

The Mrs and I found the original series of Pokemon on Netflix. That is now our bedtime show. Watched about 8 episodes in two nights.

I also downloaded Pokemon Blue for my phone, and play with a Gameboy emulator app.

Gotta catch 'em all!

I'll definitely have to show the kids the original Pokemon. My eldest LOVES Pokemon Black and White because he doesn't know any better. He knows all the Pokemon off by heart, all their stats, everything, and it's all he talks about. It's painful. He bought one of the new Pokemon figurines, I think its name is Xerneas but I just call it Waynette because I can. Bloody ridiculous looking thing it is.

Im sure the newer storylines aren't as deep either.

We watched the one where Ash meets Brock, and it shows how Brock was abandoned by his father, and left to look after his younger siblings, having to give up his own dreams as a result. Only for his father to realise at the end what he's done, and come back into their lives and let Brock live his.

Now that shit is deep.

I have a 12 year old brother, and for years I've told him to not even talk to me about the new Pokemon, because I don't believe in them.
