Recruits in the SANFL that didn't quite work out

Postby Big Phil » Tue Oct 14, 2008 9:19 pm

I was listening to the boys on the Monday morning 5RPH Sports Show and a few names were raised which made me think about some recruits of the past that didn't really work out...

Adam Contessa, Leigh Tudor, Marcus Baldwin from the Bays were mentioned...

What other names can people come up with ???

*sigh*

Oh for the old FootySA days

we came up with about 30 hack recruits to Glenelg post Crows...

David Strooper, Scott Jordan, Steve Rattray, Glenn Keast, Paul King....

from within the SANFL who were past their best, Mark Tylor, Sean Tasker, David Kupsch, Nathan Irvin....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Kynan Ford from Centrals in the early 2000's often copped a lot of flack, sometimes justified...

But he did end up being a 2 time premiership player...

Steven Koops at North Adelaide...

The prize in this category has to go to Norwood's short-lived ruckman of the Killigrew era, Morrie Pope!
[I notice he appears as "Maurie" in Spelly's list - I'm not sure which is correct.]

EDIT: He was a total embarrassment with those long run ups to the ruck encounter then barely getting near the ball.
