Didn't get a round in Bali. Got back on the course today on a nice little course north of Perth in Guilderton. Only thing was it was sand greens however I got tipped off it was the hardest fairways you'll play as they are very narrow and the surface is always heavily tilted to 1 side.

Lost a few balls and they can keep them....

Bit more practice before I go back I think....

Had a hit on Sunday and had 39 on the front 9. Best score for 9 i have had. ended up being 47 after 11 holes and there is where it ended. What followed was nothing short of disgraceful. Still ended up with 37 points but i had three wipeouts in the last 7 holes. My problem is when i am playing well, i think too far ahead and imagione the scores i could have if i keep playing like i am and then i lose the plot. Anyone else do this or is it just me?
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep

No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

played gawler on sunday, had a horrible day, shot 106, first 100+ round in the last 7, incidentally since the last time i played gawler. hit 64% of fairways, and 35 putts, which is usually pretty decent for me, so you can see my irons and particularly my chipping was really bad.

was an enjoyable round, but have to say i would have been disappointed to pay $45 for a round (i had an entertainment book voucher so it was half price)

fairways were nice but some of the fringes were a bit inconsistent, and the greens were fast but a bit bobbly in places. the one thing i like the least about gawler, and that isnt really their fault, but the rough is very sandy, so it means it is almost impossible to get a decent purchase on it. this is particularly punishing for a spud like me who cant hit the greens and might be chipping from 10m away.

in the local area i think both tanunda and nuri are much better courses.

Gents after some advice.

I'm after a handicap, I've just brought a 10 round multi-pass for $240 for Nth Adelaide but obviously that doesn't come with one.

Now I get the fact you need to be a club member to get a handicap but it's $230 plus green fees at Nth Adelaide plus or I can get the membership worth $990.

Does anyone have a better option for me to get a handicap with out forking out $990?

As stupid as it sounds I don't really want to be tied to one course either I'd like to play all over the place.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

i dont play there myself, but i know someone who does, and I have thought about signing up. you play every second sunday, get a handicap, and play all over the place. sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.

There are a number of social clubs around that you can join where you can get an official handicap.

Try MatteeG and see if he is still involved with the Cove Golf Club or even look up SGA Tour

Unfortunately over the last 6 weeks Corellas had attacked a lot of the greens leaving unwanted holes and patched up bits everywhere.

As for the golf, the ball went straight - straight into the trees right, straight into the trees left and even straight into the water

My group did walk away with some movie tickets and golf balls for a NTP win

Just got back from the states

Played a round in Vegas at Silverstone golf club - Wasnt a bad course, and the deal we got wasnt too bad.

On another note...

Went to the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, and managed to get a photo and signature from Adam Scott after mentioning the crows!

well for a public course it probably is amazing. For the pounding it cops from the nuffys not repairing divots, pitch marks and raking bunkers properly it is very good.

That's the thing that blows me away about WA courses. The quality of public courses is first class and most Private courses welcome you with open arms if you are ready to pay up. Have not seen 1 course here that offers you sand buckets.....
