http://www.phuket.com/sheraton/You can get deals of pay for 5 nights and get 5 nights free (ie) 10 nights for around $100 per night - check with the travel agents
Also, there are restaurants on the beach so you can eat there for a lot less then the hotels. Organise for breakfast in the hotel but eat at the beach for lunch and dinner - Lunch around $10 and dinner $20 each
Cheers for that Pikey, looks good, the distance from the airport is appealing. Only thing is it looks too 'kid friendly' as we dont want to be stuck near any families. How did you find it in that regard?
Not a problem - There were a few families but we didn't have a problem as it is expensive compared to the hotels further along the bay. Plus they tended to go on tours during the day, whilst the missus and I were just putting debits in the cancer bank.
The alternative is that you could stay at the Banyan Tree next door but it is far more expensive -The Sheraton Grande Laguna is 6 star but the BT is even more exclusive.
As I said before, we go every April - Bang Tao Bay is a paradise
Regarding Phi Phi Island etc., you can book that, and any other, tour on the beach in front of the Sheraton. Well worth doing the day trip to Phi Phi. Was really good fun.
If you want cheap shirts etc, they sell them on the beach; but without the hard sell that you get in Patong. If they haven't got what you want, you just ask and its there the next day
Plus, they have transport into Patong if you want a night in the madness or go to the kickboxing on Saturday nights which my lad and I do
Golf - they can organise it for you at the BT
Pub - there is a good English pub about 10 mins away
You've got me all emotioned up - can I come with you?
