Serious question. Are clubs planning on protesting changes to SFL house at years end? Losing 20% of your clubs in 12 months and had the serious potential to be 30%. Had realistically 6-7 years to fix the situation up but haven't changed a thing. Even if they made it a 9/6 split when Towns came in at least it gave all clubs a realistic hope of success. Professional AFL clubs were having a tough time when it was 1 league with 16 teams, what were the SFL thinking when making a 15 team comp as 1 division at suburban level?

1 division was a failure in year 1 circa 2001. They had 15 years to fix up the mess they created

Are you sure about that EV. 2001 being one division and a failure. Noarlunga won the premiership that year against Reynella, but not with the last kick of the day after the siren and are having a reunion next weekend and Lonsdale won division 2 and are having their reunion in the next couple of weeks. Not sure those clubs would have seen that as a failure.

 Those early days of one division with regular 50 - 67 goals victories over the bottom 1-2 clubs was great for the league.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

2002 was the first season of one division which was 15 clubs - the current 14 plus Kangarilla. I think the departure of McLaren from Div 2 to GSFL was a key factor. Brighton won the flag in that first year of one Division with only one loss and our biggest win was something like 24 goals to 6 goals versus Aldinga which is nothing out of the ordinary for the top versus bottom team in any competition. Unfortunately the margins in games between top and bottom sides started to blow out soon after.

Why don't the larger clubs take things into there own hands and create a breakaway 10 Club Competition. Would fix the problems.

The SFL don't own the clubs or ground. Could be set up and in place by next season.

Reckon that was spoken about after Future Directions failed because SFL voted not to do anything - reckon if some changes dont happen soon it will come up again and the SFL will be

Haven't gone anywhere! Not much to be excited about this year other than seeing some great young talent blooded in our seniors, but change was required and the rebuild begins. Also trying to avoid getting wound up about the current state of the SFL. That topic currently makes my blood boil.
