Yeah I think Flaggies had most of the play, except for the second quarter, but both defences were pretty much on top and thus the relative low scores. This belied the weather and oval which were as good as you could wish for.
29 years since Flaggies were in the BIG DANCE, so new territory for us, but we're there and obviously a chance.
As one old timer said to another; "how hard is it?"

Now there's an interesting comment considering it has been 29 years since we were in a GF and in the last three games have beaten the 'Flies, Emus and Shoes.

I apologise Heli but your logic evades me. We obviously haven't choked in a GF in 29 years and the facts show we have beaten three very good teams on the trot.

I'll ask again, you been away?

Didn't play as well today as we played against the Emu's but got the job done. How is Saul Abbott's footy year? Couldn't get B grade game early on and was playing C grade, now lining up in the A grade GF.

In perfect Footy conditions The Emus got the job done in an entertaining game, well done to Brighton who really fired up in the 3rd to take the lead at 3/4 time, Jacob Carger the big mover for the latte sippers but a dominant ruckman and a couple of key forwards were the difference between the two teams. Looking forward to playing Flaggies in the G.F, they have beaten us twice this year so we will have to play well to win that's for sure.

Flaggies and MV in the Grand Final.

I think Flaggies would be slight favourites but it is lineball as to who will win. Will be a cracking match either way.

Flaggies by 10 points.

Congratulations to the Happy Valley Under 18s. Been a tough year and they deserve recognition for getting to the GF. Previous games against Reynella were losses of 60 points plus both times but our boys wanted it more and were more disciplined.
They have pushed many kids up to the senior teams for most of the year due to injuries and departures. Means some players will be devastated not to have qualified and play with their mates. Tough for them but they've gained a lot in playing A and B grade. That's footy.

Would not be surprised to see a few players make the move back to Taylors Road now.

7 clubs involved this year in comparison to 4 last year. Hopefully it will make for a bigger day with a great atmosphere. Good luck to all involved (except for Brighton's B grade team  ) It is great to see Christies represented in the SFL's biggest day once again.

Really, 12 "A graders"
I went onto good old sporting pulse and found that on the weekend there were in fact 12 players in the B grade team that had played an A grade game.
There were also 13 players in the Morphett Vale side that had played an A grade game.
And (i had to go back a week) but there were 13 players in the Flagstaff Hill team that lined up against Noarlunga had played an A grade game.

Would all these players be classed as A graders?

Good analysis SMP. The goals we conceded in the first quarter to the non-scoring end was really the difference and it was catch-up after that. The boys worked so hard in the third to take the lead at the last break but Bode and his midfield snuffed out that effort with 2 goals direct from centre clearance in the opening 90 seconds of the last quarter. Game over after that. Big Ilj and Loveridge were able to provide what our forwards couldn't which was just as much to do with the delivery. The amount of kicks we "shinned" when going forward was pretty ordinary.

One comment about finals series in recent years is how many goals that are kicked from 50 metre penalties across all grades. Some of the umpiring is very precious when it comes to marginally late contact after a mark has been taken or a bit of minor lip from a free kick. If they are consistent I suppose that's fine but they seem more inclined to pay them when it puts the bloke on the goal line or within easy reach of goal.

I might catch up with some of you tonight on the "Maroon Carpet". Well done to all award winners and good luck to those that are in the running for a medal.

I thought that would have been the case, and it came from a MV supporter so doesn't surprise me they were looking for excuses. Thats the nature of B grade footy. Christies were very good.

Yes and Matt Hodge runner up, Liam has had a stunning year dominating the midfield, a worthy winner, hopefully he can on the training track and play in the G.F - and then a good win on Saturday to top off a pretty good year for the Club.
