Anyone know why Duncan has a clearance in from South to Hamley. Seen him once last year before shoulder went and he looks a good player.

That's ridiculous.
How did Hamley get extra points after finishing top four? Then to flaunt it like that...

Hamley play in a 7 team comp and in the past 9 years have finished with 6 or 7 wooden spoons, a 5th and a 3rd.
1 good season out of the past 9.
So the points haven't been reduced or affected yet.
Then lost 10 players including new imports through moving clubs and retirements which frees up 10 or so points.
So no extra points were given to get Ash across.
Ash moved to Hamley because he wanted to play with mates.

South lost to Mallala. couple goals I heard

Freo pumped a very undermanned united.

Where is the Freeling/RSMU trial being played this week?

This is correct if you are referring to those mates that are green, numerous and fit in his wallet.

Have not heard any Bombers news apart from outs in Taylor, Zwar and Agius.
Any news on recruits other than the smaller Turrell back.
Big losses in midfield and with Brady, Valentine, Sam Ryan and McKenzie all getting older they need some good ins to be competitive this year.

Barossa seem to be the club with biggest losses with Christie, Coles, Commane, Jenkins, Pinch, Cameron and Sharpy retiring for the 5th time, Taylor going OS they also need some big ins but not seeing on clearances sign any action. Is Aish back this year for the Dogs and will James play on?

What news on South and Willaston recruiting and how good are they going to be in the BL&G.

We have signed a ruckmn and have Westhoff back and are getting ready to sign another on baller from amaetuer league but just going with some young kids again. Still a chance Dutschke could be back but having a go at Centrals again if he can stay injury free.

Any trial news for this week-end.

The list of ins mainly includes returning players but ones who have a "bit" to offer - Cussadia, J, Johnson, the "taller" Turrell, Holding, etc, and Lee O'Donohoe from Hummocks and NAFA. Midfield won't be that much of a problem if you add some of these to McKinnon, Anderson, Bissett.....
Thinking that they may be stronger this year. Time will tell.

My general feeling is it should be a very competitive year. with most teams looking to be Middle of the pack will be an interesting year.

Centrals probably will be the stand out team. along with Tanunda.

Barossa to be right back with the rest.

With Round 1 less than a week away, who are people tipping...?

Gawler Central v Tanunda - a great matchup that will set the scene for 2014, will be good when the Tigers get the Dogs function centre up and running. Also Centrals will be wearing the traditional gold guernsey with a black sash this season, a brand new old look. Tanunda with variable trial form but still have a number of match winners.

Barossa District v Angaston (at Williamstown, originally Lyndoch) - No match at the picturesque Lyndoch Oval this season after hosting a grand final 2 years ago, and 2 potentially evenly match sides after an exodus at Barossa. Most interesting match of round 1 for me.

Freeling v Willaston - Yet another interesting match up, will be good to see where both sides are at after disappointing 2013 seasons. Let's hope the guernsey clash situation between these 2 sides is sorted out after some mixups resulting in confusing viewing in recent times.

South Gawler v Nuriootpa - Impossible to tip who will win this, but the big story from this match is to see how many South have lost this season and what Nuri will be like after an exodus of their SAAFL recruits.

Kapunda Bye (good decision by the league to give the bye to Kapunda, hopefully the extra few weeks means the bombers can get their juniors up and running to be high flying this season)

Central v Tanunda, Central by 10 goals plus, they will be keen to make ammends for last year and looked to have improved their squad even more. Saw 3/4 of Tanunda's trial yesterday and they may have been missing a few but they looked terrible, cant see them getting close.

Barossa v Angaston, Barossa appears to have lost far too many players and will slip back to the pack, Ango to get up in what will be a lean year for the Dogs.

South v Nuri, South in a close one, with their losses many people are tipping them to finish near the bottom but was impressed with some of their kids in the trial if they can keep their intensity up they could win more than they lose, Nuri seem a bit of an unknown and traditionally struggle early on in the season due to vintage.

Freeling v Willaston, Willaston by a fair bit, Legs were ordinary last year and cant see them improving too much, I expect Willaston to be around the mark for finals

Tanunda traditionally bad in their annual trial against south, but still think they will go down to Centrals maybe 24-39 points.

Raffle Off Barossa Vs Ango- who knows they think the dogs are struggling but no one knows. Ango I think will struggle but a couple good ins. Ango 1-12.

South vs Nuri; South full of young run. Nuri I didn't rate last year a couple ok ins. South 13-24

Freo vs Willaston; Freo should improve from last year, have a lot of kids coming through and kept must good players from last ear as well as picking up a couple more. They are a bit light on with key position players. Willaston traditionally are a very big side killing freo. Probably do it a gain. Willaston 24-39.

Also trial Freo lost to RSMU on the weekend in the trail by about 4 goal or so in the end. Freeling missing everyone over 6 foot 1.

Interesting round to open season

Centrals V Tanunda - we always start poorly and with all the imports Centrals have they will account for the Magpies by 8 goals but expect us to improve as the year goes on with a couple of locals returning mid season with some luck and dollars passing hands

Barossa V Angaston- not sure about this game and could go either way - Barossa to win in a close game by 18 points

Freeling v Willaston- Willaston lacking class around the ground and Freeling to win at home by 4 goals-hearing Baker is out for Willaston for the season with injury to shoulder and big fella Jones at Glenelg gives Legs the advantage

South V Nuriootpa- hardest game to pick and again not sure on South recruiting and hearing Marschall will be palying so if he plays and with home ground advantage South to get up by 10 points.

Thought GC's only added import was Jamar to replace Howard, but could be wrong

I am amazed the Herald let Media Mike write the crap he does each week. His top 20 again show his absolute biais towards Angaston with 3 Ango players in the top 20. He then has Angaston finishing 5th on this years ladder when they have finished bottom the last 2 years. Hell Days would not even have them that high in 2014. I follow Tanunda and to have Lachie Agars in the best 20 in the association in front of Stanley from Centrals and about 50 others is just embarassing and shows the writer has no football knowledge .Comparing the liftout from the Bunyip and the Herald it would be embarassing for the Herald as the Bunyip's lift out is fantastic and a great endorsment of the BLG. Well done Sam and all those at the Bunyip for a great production on local sport.
