DOOL, not sure of all the info, but, think Balaklava was part of Lower North, but zone folded.

Kids were picked in the Yorke Peninsula team for Country Cups etc.

Registered by SACA as players as: Yorke Peninsula/West Torrens.

Thats the main point why appeal upheld I believe, WT did nothing wrong.

Think "Tony Clifton" summed it up correctly, know WT took this issue up few years ago with SACA and were told it would be fixed, but obviously hasn't been.

From the outside looking in, agreed, WT did nothing wrong in this situation.

Having said that, I heard a story that last year WT got SACA to clear a player to their club after the Dec 31st deadline, meaning that player could no longer play ATCA finals.
They (WT) then held this over the players head as a reason for him to play SACA d-grade rather than Turf cricket with his mates.

Possibly a simple mistake (missing the Dec 31 deadline), but interesting to see both cases involved WT.

Very interesting Trader, would be really disappointed if that is true!!

Only time WT hold back on transfers is if the player is non- financial.

This may even be simply a Mycricket issue.
I know kids that represent Barossa & Light in country carnivals are transferred from clubs to Northern Districts/Barossa & Light as team name
Seniors from B&L that play country carnival are transferred to Woodville/Mid North as team name. 99% of these seniors would already be registered with Northern Districts so what would happen if some of these senior guys decided to play grade cricket?

That doesn't answer the question though.

And WT have form, good at bleating and bad at manning up to their mistakes.

Those zone names in MyCricket are confusing.

I know one kid who made his country cup team and got registered to "Sturt / Fleurieu South" for the carnival.

He was already playing for Southern Districts so was worried he'd been changed to Sturt. Sturt / Fleurieu South is nothing to do with Sturt DCC.

I understand why they wanted to have the grade/country link highlighted but there are too many anomalies. Eg Fleurieu North is Torrens Valley (East Torrens), Murray Bridge (East Torrens) and Hills (Kensington). The zone is split between two grade clubs and there are other like this I'm sure.

Just on West Torrens, current issue aside they do bloody well in juniors. I remember when the zones were re-done a few years ago that the stats said they had the smallest metro zone of any club. Still manage to churn out lots of good players. Do they get lots of country kids down each week?

Or do they manage to attract a few players from Glenelg/Port/Woodville's zones due to having a good reputation? Success breeds success.

Don't talk up West Torrens too much TC, smac will slit his wrists!!

Think WT have won 17 Junior Premierships in last 7 years, including the Bank SA ones. Has not translated to Seniors
yet unfortunately. Due to necessity, lots of these juniors in A's this year, so will be short term pain for hopefully long
term gain in few years time. Had four 17 year olds in A's Round 1 and 7 teenagers. May not win a game this year which
will be tough after many years in finals, but with only one Senior Premiership to show for it, think it is the right
way to go. Time will tell.

Great to see Matt Cuconits get his 2nd A grade 150 in only 4 games of A grade cricket.

Set out with the objective to improve his batting this year and so far so good.

Can he force his way into the Eastern squad?

I believe Western could be adding to theirs for the next round of matches. Potential bowler invited to a Redbacks net session this week for Rob Cassell to look at....

Doubt he will force his way in the Edge, its a pretty formidable batting line up, but could be added to another squad similar to Jake Lehman.

2 x 150's in four A Grade games is ridiculous. What a jet! Good on him. Great to see a young player making such strides early. Becomes a pretty formidable top order for TTG if he can maintain the rage.

Great start to the grade season. Only one undefeated team - Glenelg, and they've had a bye. Only one team without a win - West Torrens.

Love it when it's closely fought. You want as many teams as possible to be in the mix for finals down the stretch. Makes those post-Christmas trainings a bit easier to get through!

Going early but I like Northern Districts this season. Reckon they'll jump into the four.

And strangely the bottom team has scored the most runs so far this season. Just need to perform with bat and ball in the same game!

Hey Aerie do you have much to do with Woodville CC? Noticed they had to forfeit their U16 whites on the weekend? Not good having Woodville and Port Adelaide forfeiting

Pathetic that Port are forfeiting the U16 whites for the second year running, not that hard to find 12 kids to play, I hope SACA are fining them for every game they miss!
Why don't they just get all of the Jets and TTG rejects like they used to.

Yet other clubs have had to cull their lists.

Port Adelaide had a number of fill in players in the seniors too.
