8 of the 12 clubs didn't want it so it was voted out. This is the type of thing that Grade clubs should be doing IMO. Pity it will be a premier league. Points in favour of smac's argument at Grade level.

Jesus Christ!

What are these grade clubs doing?

8 of 12 grade clubs didn't want it?! Talk about making themselves obsolete. If U14's is a "premier league" style competition too then if it is successful, why not Bank sa Under 17 shield too...

Exactly.

Great start to the grade season. Only one undefeated team - Glenelg, and they've had a bye. Only one team without a win - West Torrens.

Love it when it's closely fought. You want as many teams as possible to be in the mix for finals down the stretch. Makes those post-Christmas trainings a bit easier to get through!

Going early but I like Northern Districts this season. Reckon they'll jump into the four.

Shows how even a season it will be indeed this season - West Torrens defeating Northerns on the weekend.

Cheers

Kensington will be a very very hard team to beat I'd have thought. Pretty solid line up (+ add Klinger and a fit Opie come finals time).
Glenelg would be their main challenger I'd have thought.

Northern Districts will be lucky to finish in the top half. Same squad they've had for the last 7 or 8 years which has won them nothing.

About 6 weeks ago, the TTGDCC boys had a massive backyard cricket tourny.

Teams included first class cricketers through to blokes who missed D Grade selection round 1 and a few other lads who are mates and hang round the club.

We have already had other clubs wanting to put teams into next years comp which will no doubt be bigger and better!

If your interested check out the edited video of the day....

Brilliant video :D

Did teams still train tonight? Bloody hot... at least it looked hot from the bar.

Tips this round:
Woodville over East Torrens
Kensington over Uni
Jets over Adelaide
Glenelg over Prospect
One day specialists TTG over West Torrens

Can't separate Port and Sturt. Match of the round! Maybe Port at home in a tight one. Josh Rosenthal smashing them down the order? Could sneak up to the top three as a wildcard.

TTG trained, shorter session batters bat bowlers bowl. No gully breeze either which the players were hoping would spring up and cool things off!

Selections were interesting, B, C and D grade all won last week (Bs by 200 runs) and 7 had to come into the A grade, few unlucky blokes got dropped.

Congrats to Sean Nottle who got selected for his first A grade game after a solid U19s carnival and 5fa last weekend.

Similar situation with us regarding selections too. Trent Lawford not making the trip to Hobart with the Strikers so further complicated things.

Amjal Shahzad in for his first game as well. No shortage of opening bowlers for the Buffalos this weekend in the 1's

Also heard West Torrens have lost Kelvin Smith for the next few weeks. Hobart have signed him for the Big Bash......

Is Amjal Shahzad a pom?

They have named Kelv on mycricket but a big los for WT if they do lose him.

Trav is available which is good for us. We havent been able to capture that consistent form we had last year.

Good for Sean Nottle. Remember he bowled the house down in the Banksa carnival a year or two ago. Cronin looks like he's been struggling a bit so good opportunity.

Nice for K. Smith to get a chance in the Big Bash. Would love to see him get a few games. The more exposure at that level the better, whatever the format.

Yep Notts is improving, very difficult bowler to score off and will keep improving his craft. Definately did have 2 good BankSA carnivals the last 2 years.

So no Kelvin this week for WT or he goes after?

Well, two correct tips out of six

That'll do me. No more tips.

There should be an online grade tipping competition though. Would be fun.

Why was the game abandoned between TTG and Southerns today in the U/17 comp?

A light shower of rain usually wipes TTG's grounds for about three weeks!

Incorrect TC, Bulkana (the oval they were playing on) is a wicket that you normally play on when there has been rain. We coped a bit of rain in the gully and unfortunately the covers drained it all to one spot (off the wicket ). Players and coaches wanted to play, umpires decided to call it off which was dissapointing.

Also TC, Perti's deck has been dug up and as of next season will be a raised sqaure with nice new drainage
