Round 4 Tips

Going against recent trends but I reckon there will be six results this round. With Saturday/Sunday games plus some warm weather the curators will pump more water into the decks that usual.

Prospect vs Adelaide
Tough call but going to go for the visitors narrowly. Hardest game to tip. Prospect have been a bit of a bogey team for Adelaide recently but I like Adelaide this year.

West Torrens vs University
Going for the Eagles here. Uni have a strong top three but get through them I think they're vulnerable. Daniel Drew and Spencer Johnson the keys.

Southern District vs East Torrens
Really liking East Torrens' start to the season. Batters in form and quicks sharing the wickets. Reigning premiers knocked off on their home deck in a boilover! Staunton to come out of retirement by Christmas!

Tea Tree Gully vs Sturt
Can't go past the Gullies on their home deck. Play that ground superbly, bat very deep.

Glenelg vs Port Adelaide
The Bays look the real deal so far. Pretty sure they're undefeated in every format so far? Palindromes here.

Northern Districts vs Woodville
Jets haven't beaten the Peckers since 2009/10
Think that run will continue here. Woodville too even across the board though they need Francesca back fit asap.

Heard Bays won on the last ball of the match, Port held on for ages for the last wicket too. Would love to have seen a draw, don't know why Glenelg think they need 400 runs on the board, declaring late Saturday night to give the bowlers a crack would seem wiser. Still, got there in there in the end by one ball!

Surely tonight is the final nail in the coffin for Mid-Week 20/20 matches....no way a red ball match or white ball 50 would be playing in these conditions.

Sack Geoff Turley as head of the Programming Committee, has no idea. How many years have people been complaining! What are the Club Delegates doing, surely they bring this issue up. Too busy getting their free food and drinks and tickets into the Test Match to fix something so bloody obvious. Typical SACA mess! Although WT did chase successfully in the dark two weeks in a row!

Last season the twilight games were in December. Those 2-3 weeks makes quite a big difference. Also 5:00pm or even 5:10pm start time would make a small difference too. Add in bowling in 5 over blocks from each end which might shave another 5 minutes off the game time.

Those three very simple changes would mean that it works well. Could be really successful, fun nights for clubs. Just need it to be fair for both teams. You don't want the predicted light to be a factor being considered during the coin toss.

Was the next big thing at one stage. Reckon he played the U/15, U/17 and U/19 national championships all in one season. In hindsight that level of fast-tracking probably is not the best thing for a player.

If grounds had high LUX lights and state of the art sightscreens then you wouldn't need it but these are suburban ovals.

Completely changes how the game is played. What if a gale is blowing from one end? What if there is a left and right hander batting together and they need to take turns each over hitting over a short legside boundary? Can't do that effectively with 5 at each end. It has too much bearing on the game compared to over by over end changes.
