Yes, Tim Davey won it. Can't remember who they awarded it to on the night, but I did hear he refused to give it back! Think it was the Kensy wicky?

Sure is. A fantastic effort from both clubs to get this far.

I wonder if SACA will present both clubs a sizeable cheque to compensate for the legal fees the clubs spent to ensure their survival to this point? Not to mention the hundreds of volunteer hours.

A sorry saga. Hopefully finished now. With the merger talk it's been like a cloud hanging over grade cricket for the last few years. Has finally lifted but we've lurched instead into the U/19 controversy!

Hopefully the Redbacks reach the Shield final. There's less urgency for change if the Redbacks are successful and vice versa.

Just keep the bye until the new club is ready to roll where ever it is located......

Most kids eligible for under 19's these days are already playing First Grade.

Done a "phantom" Bradman count, think it will be low scoring and close, so many games where votes could go to five or six different players, so just depends on how umpires see it in the end. With WT and Kensy winning so many games, predicting Drew and Dalton to fight it out. See how close this ends up, top 15!

Daniel Drew (WT) 26
Johnathan Dalton (Kens) 25
Nick Winter (Uni). 23
Finn Hudson-Prentice (Pros) 21
Jake Brown (Kens) 20
Mark Cosgrove (ND) 18
Connor McInerney (Wood) 18
Jacob Dick (St) 17
Leigh Drennan (WT) 17
Phil Neate (Adel) 16
Ben Williams (WT) 16
Adam Somerfield (TTG) 15
Harry Nielsen (Wood) 15
Brad Davis (St) 15
Tom Andrews (Wood) 14

West Torrens were cruising at 0/42 before O'Hara came on and picked up Smith in his first over LBW. Then bowled Capel and Drew in successive balls and had Drennan driving a wide one to 2nd slip in the 2nd last over. Port were 5/60 as well so West Torrens will need the lower order to do the job that Port did tomorrow.

Thankfully they did! Great work by Trent Kelly and Spencer Johnson, supported by night watchman Ben Williams and Patrick Fisher saw them home by two wickets over a gallant Port Adelaide.
Cheers

Great stuff!

Was following on MyCricket from work, but then no updates from lunch, so took a lunch break myself and caught the last 5 or 6 overs from Cudmore Tce. Great to see Kelly and Pastyn there at the end. Two great club men with plenty of experience and both real competitive types that made sure the job got done.

Reckon Spencer Johnson and Kelly did something similar earlier in the season.

Great effort by Port. That spell of bowling last night was as good as you'll see in Grade cricket. Unlucky for them not to progress further, but glad there will be plenty of Port vs West Torrens games in the years ahead.

Will be West Torrens vs Kensington next weekend at Woodville Oval.

No Redbacks available for the grand final! What an amazing day they had with WA squeaking over the line.

Should be an entertaining grand final. They had quite a close minor round encounter.

Certainly was a typical finals game, the pressure was intense and could have gone either way. West Torrens bowling been their strength all year with four Quality quicks, as most other teams have one (maybe two). But Ports bowling was the best we have faced all year, with Benton and O'Hara bowling brilliantly, supported by Thomas. In the end they bowled 14 No Balls which proved costly. When Benton dropped Trent Kelly at second slip we still needed 50 to win, so that could well have been season over.

Still, we have managed to get out of tricky situations several times this year, the belief amongst the players is amazing and now they at least have the opportunity to create history and do the three-peat. Will not be easy as Kensington are an extremely strong Club, so should go right down to the wire.

Being an 'old-time Eagle' myself, I hate saying it but many Eagles teams of the past would not have got over the line from the position we were in on Sunday. As you stated, the belief amongst the players is truly amazing this year: probably the best I have seen in my 40 year history at the club. Full credit to people like Haggs, Brenton Woolford, Kells, Kelvin and the rest of the leadership group in instilling this in the boys. It was quite fitting that Loges was there with Kells to see us over the line on Sunday. Yes, the GF will be a tough one against Kensies but, if ever a West Torrens team was primed and ready, it is now!

Would be unlikely. Reading between the lines from Siddons comments in paper, sounds like Kane Richardson is fit and up for selection, but cant see Redbacks making any changes. They may take 12 or 13 players, and he may be 12th, but because they start Sunday, and we start Saturday, doubt he will play for us.

Kensington's young opening batsmen Henry Dall pulled out on weekend with apparently pneumonia, so not sure he would be ready to come back this weekend, so they may not change winning team either.

Speaking to some of his teammates today, although Henry made an appearance at the club on Sunday, he is still looking rather unwell sadly. I would be stunned if he played on the weekend. Having said that, I wish the young man all the best and a speedy recovery.

I haven't quite gone to the detail Eagles did, but here's my tips for the Bradman Medal tonight.

Bradman Medal - This will be a great count, all four guys I have below have had form spots at different times through the year, could be a real yo-yo of a leader board!

1- Daniel Drew
Only concern here is that he will lose votes to Drennan in two games and also Ben Williams in one)

2- Conor McInerney
Poles max votes in at least three games, made big runs in games others didn't really contribute)

3- John Dalton
Weight of runs and a real purple patch early in 2017, but unfortuantely he plays with vote magnet Jake Brown and may lose crucial 1 and 2 vote games from the all rounder. Also loses a couple games to Opie I think.

Smokey- James Miller
Had a great start to the year, contributes in some way most weeks and finishes the year with max votes in Rd 12, could steal it late.

Gillespie Medal

Ben Pengelly
SACAs favourite young player at the moment. Made a big hundred early doors and has contributed with consistent starts since, will have a contract next season.

Talbot Smith

Will come down to two guys already mentioned, James Miller and Daniel Drew. Both the best fielders in good fielding sides, James Miller has won it before and from all accounts he's had another blinder yeah, he's my pick. Tim Evans a chance if the umpires look at the number of catches he's taken in the slips but that usually isn't the case.

CW Walker

Brad Davis
Hasn't won this yet, but kept well in the handful of games I saw, plus another year in the runs should help him out.

Anyone have a smiley for the Bradman? Drew/Dalton seem to be the popular picks when I ask around, not as straight forward a count as last year though!
