Which side will form Govt I've no idea. 23-22 major parties with Such and Brock (memebr for Frome) holding the balance of power.

*Bump*

can I change my prediction?

Will be a rout now, Labor to lose 10 seats.

What has got me beat if Farrell is looking for "work" why hasn't he just told Finnigan to p!ss off (we'll look after you but remember who got you this gig) and he has a nice safe comfortable MLC seeat. This is of course if the labor machine want Weatherall out...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

honestly thought they were in with a chance at least, and most polls said the same, but more of this infighting is just going to turn people off, as it did federally.

Timeline of the morning:

Farrell announces he will nominate for Napier.

Weatherill says he will resign if Farrell is preselected.

Farrell says he will stand anyway and supports Weatherill being premier.

Farrell, a few hours later, withdraws his nomination. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

And what's O'Brien going to do now?

Farrell is now going to wait for the election and pounce afterwards
He isn't going anywhere.
When Labor lose - Koutsantonis will be leader

O'Brien wasn't going to continue at Napier and still won't.
He won't serve in the Premier's cabinet for the next few weeks either and admitted the whole thing gave the Libs a massive leg-up in the lead up to the election.

Farrell said he will see out the end of his tenure in the Senate and bow out of public life. No state politics for him. So he says.

Koutstantonis would be un-electable as Premier.

He has shades of Latham about him.

Koutsantonis has the same self belief of his image that Foley had, and has many of the same attributes
Difference is, Kouta has the shoppies boss onside - very close friends
Kouta has seen Abbott win, despite similar personality flaws, and that's given him the confidence he can do it as well

Can someone summarise why Don Farrell appears to have so much power within the Labor party?

His connections in the unions etc?

He was the state secretary of the SDA. The SDA control the right. He still has a huge influence over Peter Malinauskas.

Yet another try on by the Right, to think earlier this morning Farrell was touting himself as the next leader of the ALP and possibly even next Premier. The guy is nothing but a cancer and Weatherill was right to go the nuclear route to scare him off. Massive free kick to the Libs & a horrible look.

Well the Godfather has just outed himself as being responsible for all the cabinet leaks, as well as imploding today.

I will never understand why some feel the need to sabotage their own party's electoral fortune by leaking to their opponents or the media.

Anyway, Jay's dead baby, Jay's dead.
