Will the dogs do it in 2011?

Postby Dog_ger » Thu Dec 23, 2010 8:35 pm

Merry X-Mass to all SANFL'ers.

We're a winning team at Centrals. ;)

Norwood 4th.

Bays 2nd. ;)

Westies to be the big improver in 2011 :D

Dogs, Bays & Norwood to enter this 2nd tier comp in 2012.

Big Bucks coming up. ;)

Internet footy? ;)

I honestly think Centrals will drop a couple of places (thought I've been saying that the last couple of years).

I think either Norwood or Eagles will be the main challenges.

My smokey is for port to be big improvers

Eagles
Norwood
Centrals
Glenelg
West
Port
Sturt
North
South

Bays second ? What you mean a total culture shock ? Toughen up ? Hard finals football ? You are a romantic...a dreamer !

Sorry but the Dogs era will end and be replaced with another legacy ...the Redlegs golden age !
The Dogs had their last hoorah last year with a lucky win on the day.
Next year justice will prevail with the first of many Redlegs premierships.
Eagles are the one to watch next year but can see no other challengers.

Hi Dogger...

If Dogs (1st) Bays (2nd) and Norwood (4th) enter the Champions League in 2012
who is the 3rd placed team that passes on the opportunity?

Doggies are not going to be as strong as the last few years - BUT - they may have enough time left to win one more in this dynasty.

Redlegs - what a season!.........sadly with the way of the AFL at the moment, they have been raped. Will still go well, but another step without heaps of players......not sure. May take a middle of the road season to get them back in 2012 to where they were late 2010.

Eagles.......consistently have lots of changes through AFL promotion/demotion. If they were able to establish & settle a side like the Dogs have done - sh*t, how good could they be? I think they will challenge the Dogs for the flag in 2011, whether they are good enough on the day will tell the tale.

Sturt - box of unmarked chocolates. Who knows what you're going to get?

The Bays - bit like taking a girl out, spending a fortune, having her loving you all night & then when it's time to go home - BYE! Prickteasers and always will be.

Westies - building nicely, may not be 2011 but watch out for them when the Dogs' reign ends.

North - major improvers. Francou will teach them to be smart footballers.

Port - may make some reasonable inroads into 2012 & onwards I think. The "One Club" WILL have a benefit, even if just in confidence in feeling they "belong" - that'll get them improving.

South, most people's second side cos they are never going to challenge their first..........

to answer the question, i think both grand finalists will drop a peg or two, with norwood the one that'll drop more spots of the two, i'd think wwt are the ones to beat at this stage, i also think north will replace west in the five, glenelg may just scrape in ahead of sturt but only just.....wwt v ??? in the grand final
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

New recrutis are still not all known, so I wouldn't be too dogmatic about how strong each team is going to be yet ... but I should be point out that Centrals will probably have 19 of the 21 GF team available. Norwood were the closest competitor and they are definitely missing 5 key players from the team that was nearly good enough, so it is hard to see where the usual end of era predictions are coming from... apart from wishful thinking.
