Abbott wasn't PM in 2012.
If we all did Google searches there'd be no need for this forum.

Well you asked is this a hoax, and I can say with 30 secs of googling it probably is...

If you can work out within the time it took you to write the post that it's probably not true, you should have done so. Would rather keep this thread for the actual stupid shot the government is doing haha.

Maybe hoax was the wrong word.
Isn't this what a forum is all about, asking if something I've read or heard is true. The thread is Abbott/Liberal Govt Watch so I assumed this would be where I would ask.
Sorry for not thinking to use Google.

i actually agree with the Libs here - why should the government retool a factory? (i think it is a little different to the cash given to the car industry over the years, which, although much more, was a huge industry)

Take action.
Today I've written to Tony Abbott telling him where I think he is getting it wrong.
(I sent a similar summary to Malcolm Turnbull.)

Now, I'm not so important that this will have massive effect - but if everyone joins in and writes to him the cumulative effect may...

You need to get Bernardi's mob Menzies House on to it, Psyb.

SPC are owned by Coca-Cola so they are one of the wealthiest companies on the planet, let them pay for their own re-tooling.
Good on the government for telling them to get nicked

Cory and I have a pattern of disagreeing, agreeably, when we discuss issues at party functions.
That is we don't agree on much but we get along OK, even after I expressed support for gay marriage...

I expect I'll see him on Feb 8th, and I'll run it past him then! ;)

A federal MP I knew in Melbourne told me nothing gets an issue to review at the cabinet table like lots of MPs getting lots of letters in the subject and being made nervous by them. No one letter counts for much, but it works if enough people join in. The same guy said petitions tend to get discounted on the grounds that people sign them without really caring whereas individual letters show they do care about the issue as it takes them more time to write their own letter.

Why doesn't Cory Bernardi have the guts to run for a house of reps seat instead of being a parasite and hiding behind a senate donkey vote to get elected?

Maybe he's too scared his 'silent majority' theories would get found out.

I think it is unlikely he would get or win a lower house seat.
He's a pleasant enough guy to talk to and tolerant of being politely disagreed with, but has extremely capital "C" conservative views.

Don't think we should have any good senators? I take it you feel the same about Senators from both sides. I guess Wong's been hiding behind a donkey vote too.
